Description
This release notes discusses the product information for RMD tool (HP 3PAR Recovery Manager
Diagnostics tool) for RME (HP 3PAR Recovery Manager Software for Microsoft Exchange).
Overview
RME is designed to work with Microsoft Exchange servers and provides system administrators with
important tools to manage and backup critical Virtual Machines involving multiple virtualized
machine environments. This application provides essential GUI and command line-based tools to
create, manage, browse, and restore application consistent 3PAR Virtual Copies of operating
Microsoft Exchange Virtual Machines to a point-in-time.
RMD tool is a web-based application that identifies the discrepancies in the RME server
environments. RMD tool scans all the RME managed servers (backup and production servers),
gathers RME environment information, identifies discrepancies, and provides corrective actions
for the proper functioning of RME.
Installation
To install RMD tool 2.0 for RME, RME must be installed and running. RMD tool must be installed
on the RME backup server. RMD tool can diagnose only the backup and production servers
managed by RME. If multiple RME servers are available, then RMD tool must be installed on each
backup server for the tool to perform the diagnosis.
The product is an upgrade for RMD 1.0 for RME.
RMD 2.0 for RME supports only RME. Upgrading from RMD 1.0, removes RMD tool 1.0 and
installs RMD tool 2.0 for RME.

Known issues
