Resumen del manual
Resilient Data (HARD) framework, Database Validator prevents data corruption between the database
and the XP disk array and protects existing Oracle data on the XP disk array.
Volume Retention Manager for Mainframe
Volume Retention Manager allows you to protect data in your storage system from I/O operations
performed by mainframe hosts. By default, all mainframe volumes are subject to read and write
operations by any mainframe host. Therefore, your confidential information could be compromised
by unauthorized reading, copying, alteration, or even destruction. With Volume Retention Manager,
you can assign access attributes to each logical volume, thus restricting read and/or write operations
and preventing unauthorized access to data.
Cache Residency Manager
Cache Residency Manager lets you reserve areas of cache memory on the HP XP disk arrays to store
frequently accessed information. It improves file access times and enables faster data transfers.
Assigning information to on-board cache speeds up access to your data because cache-resident data
is available at host data transfer speeds for both read and write operations.
To perform Cache Residency operations, you must use the Remote Web Console software. For detailed
information, see the HP StorageWorks XP24000/XP20000 Remote Web Console User’s Guide.
Cache Residency Manager can be used in conjunction with Virtual LVI/LUN to achieve better
performance improvements than when either of these options is used individually. If you need to store
an entire mainframe or open-system volume in Cache Residency cache, you can use a small Virtual
LVI/LUN volume to decrease the amount of cache required for the volume. For further information on
Virtual LVI/LUN, see the HP StorageWorks XP24000/XP20000 Virtual LVI/LUN (VLL) and Volume
Shredder User’s Guide.

Hitachi Cache Manager Utility for Mainframe
Hitachi Cache Manager enables you to perform Cache Residency Manager operations on XP disk
arrays from the mainframe console. It allows both volumes and data sets to be locked into cache.
