Superb performance is the result of recent developments. A newly-designed high-frequency driver, constructed with the patented Tangerine™ radial phase plug, yields significantly more high end bandwidth with flat response. Altec's 15-inch musical instrument-type loudspeaker with refinements in cone design gives smoother low end response. And the 1233's crossover network, specially designed to enhance the performance and reliability of the system, provides a smooth crossover at 1200 Hz. Because of its compact size, professional roadability, efficiency, and high power handling, the 1233 system is often a travelling companion to large gospel groups and musicians needing the portability yet reliability night after night in concerts and nightclubs. Professional in appearance, the 1233 handsomely displays a black leather-grained vinyl exterior and a removable textured-polyester cloth grille.
