MUSIC LINK HARNESS 22. Secure the Music Link adapter unit onto the instrument panel with two long wire ties. 23. Secure the Music Link harness to the vehicle pipe with the two wire ties. (Align the mark you made in step 14 with the wire tie as shown). 5426010B Align ends. UNIT CUSHION MUSIC LINK ADAPTER UNIT 20. Insert the Music Link adapter unit into the unit cushion. 21. Route the Music Link harness and bus cable through the audio unit opening, and connect the Music Link harness DIN connector (White) and bus cable DIN connector (Black) to the Music Link adapter assembly. Note the location of the connectors and the terminals. CUSHION TAPES (2) BUS CABLE VEHICLE 14-PIN CONNECTOR (for XM radio) Y-HARNESS ADAPTER With the XM Radio: • Connect the bus cable 14-pin connector and vehicle 14-pin connector (for XM radio) to the Y-harness adapter 14-pin connector. • Attach one cushon tape around each Y-harness adapter 14-pin connector. BUS CABLE (Bindle up excess.) AUDIO UNIT OPENING WIRE TIES VEHICLE HARNESS Align. VEHICLE 20-PIN CONNECTOR BUS CABLE 14-PIN CONNECTOR 24. Secure the bus cable: Without the XM Radio: Align the bus cable 14-pin connector with the vehicle 20-pin connector, bundle up the excess bus cable, and secure it to the vehicle harness with the two wire ties. BUS CABLE 14-PIN CONNECTOR • Bundle up the vehicle harness and secure it, the bus cable, and Y-harness adapter with two wire ties as shown. • Align the Y-harness adapter 14-pin connector with the vehicle 20-pin connector and bundle up the excess bus cable. Secure it to the vehicle harness with the two wire ties. With XM Radio and Option CD Changer: • Unplug the CD changer bus cable 14-pin connector and CD changer Y-harness adapter 14-pin connector. Connect the Y-harness adapter 14-pin connectors in between. Connect the bus cable 14-pin connector to the Y-harness adapter 14-pin connector as shown. • Attach one cushon tape around each Y-harness 14-PIN CONNECTOR BUS CABLE 14-PIN CONNECTORS 5607120B CUSHION TAPES (2) 14-PIN CONNECTORS (2) Y-HARNESS ADAPTER Y-HARNESS ADAPTER BUS CABLE CD CHANGER Y-HARNESS ADAPTER 14-PIN CONNECTOR CD CHANGER BUS CABLE 14-PIN CONNECTOR (Align.) 5607111B VEHICLE HARNESS Y-HARNESS ADAPTER WIRE TIES VEHICLE 20-PIN CONNECTOR WIRE TIES VEHICLE HARNESS BUS CABLE (Bundle up excess.) (Align.) Y-HARNESS ADAPTER 14-PIN CONNECTOR adapter 14-pin connectors. • Secure the Y-harness adapter to the vehicle harness with a wire tie. BUS CABLE VEHICLE (Bundle up excess.) HARNESS WIRE TIE WIRE TIE Y-HARNESS VEHICLE HARNESS ADAPTER WIRE TIE • Bundle up the excess bus cable, and secure it to the vehicle harness with the two wire ties. BOX BOLTS TAB STOPPER GLOVE SELF-TAPPING SCREW DAMPER ROD 25. Reinstall the glove box. 26. Connect the vehicle connectors and bus cable 14-pin connector (or Y-harness adapter 14-pin connector) to the audio unit, and reinstall the BUS CABLE 14-PIN VEHICLE CONNECTOR or CONNECTORS Y-HARNESS ADAPTER 14-PIN CONNECTORSELF-TAPPINGSCREWBOLT (4) ANTENNA AUDIO LEAD UNIT audio unit. 27. Check that all wire harnesses are routed properly and all connectors are plugged in. 28. Reconnect the negative cable to the battery. 29. Enter the client’s radio anti-theft code. Reset the radio station presets and the clock. 30. Reinstall all removed parts. 31. Turn the audio unit ON. Check that CDC EJECT, or CD4 EJECT is shown on the audio unit display while in the AUX mode (the Music Link is recognized as an accessory CD changer). NOTE: Whenever the battery is disconnected, the driver’s AUTO function is disabled. 32. Start the engine. Push down on the driver’s window switch until the window is fully open. 33. Pull up on the driver’s window switch fully to close the window completely, then hold the switch for 2 seconds or more. 34.
