The S-AIR receiver’s function changes as follows. “MAIN UNIT” t “TUNER FM” t “AUDIO” t … To enjoy the same function as the unit, select “MAIN UNIT.” 9 Adjust the volume on the S-AIR receiver. Enjoying the S-AIR receiver while the unit is in standby mode For the S-AIR receiver You can enjoy the S-AIR receiver while the unit is in standby mode by setting [Standby] to [On]. 1 Press HOME. 2 3 4 The home menu appears on the TV screen. Press C/c to select [Setup]. Press X/x to select [System Settings], then press . Press X/x to select [S-AIR Settings], then press . 5 The [S-AIR Settings] display appears. Press X/x to select [Standby], then 6 press . Press X/x to select the desired setting. • [On]: You can enjoy the S-AIR receiver while the unit is in standby mode or turned on. The power consumption during standby mode increases. 7 •[Off]: You cannot enjoy the S-AIR receiver while the unit is in standby mode. Press . The setting is made. Note • When you turn the system off while [Standby] is set to [On], “S-AIR” flashes (when wireless transmission between the unit and S-AIR receiver is not activated), or lights up (when wireless transmission between the unit and S-AIR receiver is activated) in the front panel display. 46US Identifying the unit with a specific S-AIR sub unit (Pairing operation) Identifying the unit with a specific S-AIR sub unit (Pairing operation) When using S-AIR products, neighbors may also receive your system’s sound if IDs are the same, or you may receive sound from neighbors. To prevent this, you can identify the unit with a specific S-AIR sub unit by performing the pairing operation. When you perform pairing, wireless transmission is activated between the paired main unit and S-AIR sub unit only. 1 Place the S-AIR sub unit that you want to pair near the unit. 2 Match the IDs of the unit and the S-AIR sub unit. • To set the ID of the unit, see “To set the ID of the unit” (page 45). • To set the ID of the surround amplifier, refer to the operating instructions of the surround amplifier. • To set the ID of the S-AIR receiver, refer to the operating instructions of the S-AIR receiver. 3 Press HOME. The home menu appears on the TV screen. 4 Press C/c to select [Setup]. 5 Press X/x to select [System Settings], then press . 6 Press X/x to select [S-AIR Settings], then press . The [S-AIR Settings] display appears. 7 Press X/x to select [Pairing], then press . 8 Start pairing of the S-AIR sub unit. xFor the surround amplifier Refer to the operating instructions of the surround amplifier. xFor the S-AIR receiver Refer to the operating instructions of the S-AIR receiver. 9 Press C/c to select [Start], then press . The unit starts pairing. The PAIRING indicator of the surround amplifier flashes when pairing starts. When wireless transmission is activated, the PAIRING indicator of the surround amplifier turns on. To cancel pairing, select [Cancel]. Note • Perform pairing within several minutes of Step 9. If you do not, [Pairing failed. Retry?] appears on the TV screen. To continue pairing, select [OK] and press , then start again from Step 8. To cancel pairing, select [Cancel]. To cancel pairing Change the ID of the main and sub unit (page 45). If wireless transmission is unstable For the surround amplifier For the S-AIR receiver If you use multiple wireless systems, such as wireless LAN or Bluetooth, the transmission of S-AIR signals or other wireless signals may be unstable. In this case, the transmission may be improved by changing the following [RF Change] setting. 1 Press HOME. 2 3 The home menu appears on the TV screen. Press C/c to select [Setup]. Press X/x to select [System Settings], then press . External Audio Device 47US 4 4 The [S-AIR Settings] display appears. 5 Press X/x to select [RF Change], then press . 6 Press X/x to select the desired setting, then press . •[Auto]: Normally select this. The system changes [RF Change] to [On] or [Off] automatically. • [On]: The system transmits sound by searching for the better channel for transmitting. • [Off]: The system transmits sound by fixing the channel for transmitting. 7 Press . The setting is made. 8 When you set [RF Change] to [Off], select the ID so that wireless transmission is most stable (page 45). Note • In most cases, you will not need to change this setting. – If [RF Change] is set to [Off], transmission between the unit and S-AIR sub unit can be performed using one of the following channels. – S-AIR ID A: equivalent channel for IEEE 802.11b/g channel 1 – S-AIR ID B: equivalent channel for IEEE 802.11b/g channel 6 – S-AIR ID C: equivalent channel for IEEE 802.11b/g channel 11 • The transmission may be improved by changing the transmission channel (frequency) of the other wireless system(s).
