1 3 During playback, press the Skip/Search REV. ( ) button once to move the player back to the beginning of the current track. Press the Skip/Search REV. ( ) button repeatedly to move the player back to lower-numbered tracks. 2 9 PD5500 O/M.QXD 7/9/01 4:35 PM Page 10 REPEAT PLAYBACK To repeat a single track, press the REPEAT button . once. “REPEAT” will blink in the display. Press the Skip/Search FWD. ( ) or REV. ( ) button . to select the specific track that you wish to repeat. When the desired track number appears in the display, press the CD PLAY/PAUSE (.) button . to begin playback. The specific track you selected will be repeated continuously. 1 3 2 2 1 To cancel Repeat Playback, press the REPEAT button . until “REPEAT” disappears from the display. You can also cancel Repeat Playback by pressing the STOP () button .. 2 1 3 To repeat all of the tracks on a disc continuously, press the REPEAT button . twice. “REPEAT” will appear in the display. Press the CD PLAY/PAUSE (.) button . to begin all tracks repeat. 1 2 2 PROGRAMMED PLAYBACK The CD player in this unit has a 20-track programmable memory that allows you to program up to 20 tracks on any disc for playback in any desired order. You may program 20 different tracks or you may also program certain tracks to play more than once. To perform programmed playback, proceed as follows: Press the FUNCTION button to select CD; CD will appear in the display. 1 Press the CLOCK SET/MEMORY button. “P-01” (program number), “01” (track number) will appear and “MEMORY will blink in the display. 3 Open the CD Compartment door and insert your disc in the CD player. Close the CD compartment door. Wait for the CD player to read the table of contents and display the total number of tracks on the disc. 2 PROGRAMMED PLAYBACK SECTION CONTINUED ON NEXT PAGE. 10 PD5500 O/M.QXD 7/9/01 4:35 PM Page 11 Within 9 seconds, press the Skip/Search FWD. ( ) or REV. ( ) button . to select the first track that you wish to program. Example: Track 5. When the desired track number (Example: Track 5) appears in the display, press the CLOCK SET/MEMORY button . again. 2 1 1 4 Press either the Skip/Search FWD. ( ) or REV. ( ) button . to select the next track you wish to program (Example: Track 8). When Track 8 appears in the display, press the CLOCK SET/MEMORY button . again. 2 1 1 5 Repeat step 5 until you have programmed up to 20 track numbers into the CD Program Memory. After programming up to 20 tracks in the CD Program Memory, press the CD PLAY/PAUSE (.) button to begin programmed playback. “MEMORY” will appear in the display and playback will begin on the first track that you programmed. 6 The player will continue to play all of the tracks that you programmed in the order in which you programmed them. When the last programmed track has been played, the player will stop and the display will again show the total number of tracks on the disc. If you press the CLOCK SET/MEMORY button . and then press the PLAY/PAUSE button . again, playback will start on the first track you programmed and will continue until all the programmed tracks have been played. To cancel the Programmed Playback mode, press the CLOCK SET/MEMORY button . to enter the program mode, and then press the STOP () button ..3 1 2 7 PROGRAMMED REPEAT It is also possible to use the Program and Repeat functions together to repeat a specific program indefinitely. First, program the tracks you wish to hear in the order you wish to hear them, as described above. Then, press the REPEAT button twice. Both the MEMORY and REPEAT indicators will appear in the display. 1 Press the PLAY/PAUSE (.) button to begin programmed repeat playback. The player will play the tracks you selected in the order in which you programmed them. When the last track in the program has been played, the entire program will begin again. 2 Program Repeat operation will continue indefinitely until you press the STOP () button. 3 11 PD5500 O/M.QXD 7/9/01 4:35 PM Page 12 AUXILIARY PLAYBACK By using an optional audio connection cable, sound from an external source can be heard through this portable system. Before making any connections, turn off the power on both units. Plug a connection cable (not included) with 3.5mm plugs from the LINE OUT jack on the external unit to this unit’s AUX input jack. HELPFUL HINTS: • You could connect to the computer audio output to use this unit as an amplified speaker system. Place the unit away from the monitor to avoid interference. • Headphone outputs such as those on a cassette player can be connected. However, be sure to turn down the volume of the cassette player before connection and adjust the volume of both units to a desired level after power is turned on.
