Read all instructions before using. 2. Before connecting the kettle to the power supply, check that the voltage indicated on the appliance (underside of kettle and base) corresponds with the voltage in your home. If this is not the case, contact your dealer and DO NOT use the kettle. 3. DO NOT touch hot surface. Use handles or knobs. 4. To protect against fire, electric shock or personal injury, do not immerse cord, electric plug or kettle in water or other liquids. 5. Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children. 6. Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning; allow to cool before putting on or taking off parts and before cleaning the appliance. 7. Always disconnect the power base unit from the electrical outlet when filling the kettle with water or emptying and when not in use. 8. DO NOT operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug or after the appliance malfunctions or has been damaged in any manner. Call a service representative for the repair, as special tools and/or parts may be required. 9. The use of accessory attachments that are not recommended by the appliance manufacturer may result in fire, electric shock or personal injury. 10. Do not let cord hang over edge of table counter or touch hot surface. 11. Do not place the appliance over or near a hot gas or on electric burner or in a heating oven. 12. Only boil as much water as you want, so as to save electricity. 13. Always ensure that the lid is closed and do not lift it while the water is boiling. Scalding may occur if the lid is removed during the boiling cycles. 14. Do not fill above the 'MAX' mark on the Water Level Indicator or on the Housing. Warning: If this kettle is overfilled, boiling water may be ejected. 15. Ensure that the kettle is used on a firm and flat surface. 16. Always take care to pour boiling water slowly and carefully without tipping the kettle too fast. 17. Always fill in enough water to cover the bottom of the kettle. 18. Avoid contact with steam from the spout when the water is boiling or just after the appliance is switched off. BE CAREFUL WHEN OPENING THE LID FOR REFILLING WHEN THE KETTLE IS HOT. 19. Do not hold the switch in the ON position or tamper with the switch to fix it in the ON position as this may cause steam to be ejected from around the lid and could damage the automatic switch-off mechanism. 20. Do not attempt to connect any other appliance to the power base unit, or tamper with the connector in anyway. 21. Do not use the kettle for any other use other than boiling water. 22. This kettle is for household use only. DO NOT use outdoors. 23. Extreme caution must be taken when moving an appliance containing hot water. WARNING: Do not place the power base unit onto a metal tray or metal surface when it is connected with a power source of any kind. If the kettle ever runs dry while operating, you must allow it to cool down for 10 minutes before refilling with cold water. The safety cut-off will automatically reset. 3. POWER CORD STORAGE Provided the power cord is too long to be convenient use, the cord could be rewound into the Power Base that has a storage cavity. If so, it could avoid the falling risks of the kettle by tripping over longer cord. HOW TO USE THE KETTLE 1. FILLING THE KETTLE Remove the kettle from its power base unit (10).
