BATTERY LOW MODE If you have inserted batteries, the battery low indicator lights up when: • battery power is low. • you intend to use AC power, but the AC adapter connection is loose. During the battery low mode, both Radio/Sleep, backlight and sound will not function. Operation of any set alarm (Radio/Buzzer/Cockcrow) automatically changes to a slow buzzer beep frequency. • If the SLEEP / RADIO ON or BRIGHTNESS CONTROL button is pressed, the battery low indicator will flash for 5 seconds and then remains non-blinking. GENERAL FEATURES Reset Should you receive external interference e.g. static electricity from carpets, thunder-storms, etc. which affects the display and electronic functions of your set, RESET allows you to clear all previous settings and start up again. • Use a ballpoint pen to press RESET, found on the bottom of the set. Demo mode When the set is first connected to a power supply or has been reset, ‘PHILIPS’ will scroll continuously across the demonstration display. • Press AL 2 button during the demo mode to listen to the cockcrow demo. • Press SET TIME or SLEEP / RADIO ON to exit the demo mode, to set the time or switch on the Radio. Illumination brightness Press REPEAT ALARM / BRIGHTNESS CONTROL once or more. • The brightness of the display will change in this sequence: bright . dim . backlight off (for AC adapter on) • The brightness of the display will change in this sequence: off . dim (5 seconds) . off (for Batteries) Note: When the alarm or SLEEP function is active, the brightness cannot be adjusted. SETTING THE CLOCK AND ALARM TIMES The time is displayed using the 24-hour clock. 1. Press SET TIME or SET ALARM 1 (or 2) to enter the respective clock or alarm time setting mode. . The clock time or the alarm time display flashes and you will hear 'set time' or 'set alarm'. 2. Hold down or press HOUR or MINUTES repeatedly to set and adjust the hours and min- utes respectively. Release HOUR or MINUTES when you have reached the correct setting. 3. After both the hours and minutes are set, press SET TIME or SET ALARM 1 (or 2) to confirm the setting. • Time setting is also automatically confirmed 10 seconds after you set the time. • It is not possible to adjust the alarm time during an alarm call or the repeat alarm mode. RADIO 1 Press SLEEP / RADIO ON once to switch on the radio. 2 Select your waveband using the BAND switch. 3 Adjust TUNING to find your radio station. 4 Adjust the sound using VOLUME. 5 Press ALARM RESET / RADIO OFF to switch off. To improve reception: For FM, extend and position the pigtail fully to obtain optimum reception. For AM (MW or LW) , the set is provided with a built-in aerial. Direct the aerial by adjusting the position of your clock radio. PILES EN PERTE DE PUISSANCE Si vous avez installes les piles, l'indicateur de piles en perte de puissance s'allume lorsque: • Les piles sont en perte de puissance • Vous souhaitez alimenter l'appareil sur Courant Alternatif mais la connexion de l'adaptateur Courant Alternatif est lache. Lorsque les piles sont en perte de puissance, les fonctions radio/mise en sommeil, eclairage et son cessent d'etre operationnelles. Le fonctionnement de l'alarme (Radio/Sonnerie/Chant du Coq) est reduit automatiquement a un bip sonore de faible frequence. • Si vous appuyez sur le bouton SLEEP / RADIO ON ou BRIGHTNESS CONTROL l'indicateur de piles en perte de puissance se met a clignoter pendant 5 secondes a l'affichage puis cesse de clignoter.
