If a thermal fuse in a battery continually trips under normal driving conditions, please contact your local Power Wheels® Authorized Service Center. For the location of the Authorized Service Center nearest to you, visit us on-line at or call 1-800-348-0751. ELECTRICAL HAZARD • Battery can fall out and injure a child if vehicle tips over. Always use battery retainer. • PREVENT FIRE - Never modify the electrical system. Alterations could cause a fire resulting in serious injury and could also ruin the electrical system. - Use of the wrong type battery or charger could cause a fire or explosion resulting in serious injury. - Use of Power Wheels® components in products other than Power Wheels® vehicles could cause overheating, fire or explosion. • The battery must be handled by adults only. The battery is heavy and contains sulfuric acid (electrolyte). Dropping the battery could result in serious injury. • Never allow children to charge the battery. Battery charging must be done by adults only. A child could be injured by the electricity involved in charging the battery. • Read the safety instructions on the battery. • Examine the battery, charger and their connectors for excessive wear or damage each time you charge the battery. If damage or excessive wear is detected, do not use the charger or the battery until you have replaced the worn or damaged part. WARNING ASSEMBLY BATTERY CHARGING ASSEMBLY BATTERY CHARGING Charger Connector AB • Plug the charger connector into the battery . • Plug the charger into a standard wall outlet AB. Notes: -If power flow to the wall outlet is controlled by a switch, make sure the switch is “ON”. -Use the charger only in a wall outlet. Do not plug the charger into a ceiling outlet. • Before first-time use, charge the battery for at least 18 hours. Never charge the battery longer than 30 hours. • Recharge the battery for at least 14 hours after each use of your vehicle. Do not charge the battery longer than 30 hours. • Once the battery is charged, disconnect the battery connector from the charger connector. Unplug the charger from the wall outlet. The battery is now ready to be installed in your vehicle. Please see the Battery Installation section on page 18 for detailed instructions on installing your battery. If your battery is already installed in your vehicle, simply re-connect the motor harness connector to the battery. WARNING Children can be harmed by small parts, sharp edges and sharp points in the vehicle's unassembled state, or by electrical items. Care should be taken in unpacking and assembly of the vehicle. Children should not handle parts, including the battery, or help in assembly of the vehicle. • Place the vehicle upside down. • Slide the bumper support, ribbed side up, into the slot in the front end of the vehicle. • Insert two 1/4" x 11/4" screws into the bumper support and tighten. Bumper Support 1 BOTTOM VIEW In the unassembled state, this package contains small parts. Adult assembly is required. CAUTION 8 J4390pr-0922 ASSEMBLY ASSEMBLY 2 Front Bumper • Fit the front bumper to the vehicle. 3 • Insert six #8 x 3/4" screws into the front bumper and tighten. Front Axle4 • Slide a 7/16" washer onto a front axle. • Fit a bushing, flat side first, onto the front axle. Washer Bushing Wheel Cover 5 Front Wheel (Marked R) Note: There is a right and left front wheel. They are marked with an R and L. • Locate the right front wheel marked with an R. Place the front wheel R, onto the front axle. • Fit a wheel cover on to the right front wheel. 9J4390pr-0922 EASSEMBLY ASSEMBLY Lock Nut6 Assembly Tool 8 FRONT VIEW • Insert six #8 x 3/4" screws into the front bumper and tighten. • Fit a 3/8"-16 lock nut, rounded side out, onto the front axle. IMPORTANT! Tighten the lock nut firmly with the closed end of the assembly tool. Mirror • Repeat steps 4-6 to assemble the other washer, bushing, front wheel and wheel cover with the remaining 3/8"-16 lock nut. 7 Hubcaps Hubcaps • Align the slot in a hubcap with the rib in the wheel cover. “Snap” a hubcap into the center of each wheel cover. • Turn the vehicle upright. 9 Mirror Cover Dash Assembly • Fit a mirror and mirror cover to an end of the dash assembly. • Insert two #8 x 3/4" screws into the mirror cover and tighten. • Repeat this procedure to attached the other mirror and mirror cover to the opposite end of the dash assembly. 10 J4390pr-0922 ASSEMBLY 10 Dash Assembly Motor Harness Connector Dash Connectors 12 • Insert four #8 x 3/4" screws into the dash assembly and tighten. • Position the motor harness connector toward the front of the vehicle. • Place the dash assembly upside down on top of the front end of the vehicle. • Plug the dash connector from the vehicle into the dash connector on the dash assembly. Hint: If the connectors do not fit together, do not force them. Simply turn one of them around and try again. 13 BACK VIEW • Insert two black #8 x 3/4" screws into the dash assembly as shown and tighte...
