AC socket microphone © © © © © © © © ANTENNA For AM Reception, the unit has a built-in ferrite bar antenna, Rotate the unit to obtain maximum reception. FM antenna To listen to FM broadcasts, extend the ROD ANTENNA to the most suitable length. Reception may be improved by turning the antenna to different direction. Notes: Be sure to re-insert rod antenna before raising or lowering the carrying handle, do not apply excessive force when handling the antenna because to do so may damage it. CASSETTE OPERATION 1. Push the STOP / EJECT button to open the cassette cover the cassette should be inserted so that the open part (where the tape is exposed) is facing upward, close the cassette cover completely. 2. Wet the FUNCTION SELECTOR to the "TAPE" position and then push the PLAY button. 3. Adjust the volume level with the VOLUME control. 4. To stop the tape push the STOP button. 5. When the tape comes to end, the unit stops automatically, and the power is turned off. 6. Push the STOP/EJECT button, the cover opens and the cassette can then be removed or reversed. POWER SOURCE To use with batteries (DC power source) How to insert batteries: 1. Place four UM-1 (or "D" size or HP-2) batteries in the BATTERY COMPARTMENT paying careful attention to the polarity. (Batteries not included) 2. Old batteries can leak and cause corrosion, so never leave rundown batteries in your unit, or replace at once. To use with household current: 1. Connect the AC power cord (included) to the AC SOCKET other side connect to the AC receptacle 2. This equipment must be disconnected from the mains when not in used. TO LISTEN TO THE RADIO 1. Set the FUNCTION SELECTOR to "RADIO" position. 2. Set BAND SELECTOR to the desired band. 3. Tune to the desired station by slowly turning the TUNING KNOB control. 4. Adjust the volume level with the SLIDE VOLUME control. 5. The radio can be turned off by setting the FUNCTION SELECTOR to the "TAPE” position. FAST FORWARD AND REWIND The tape can rapidly moved toward (to the left) by pushing the F.F. button, the tape can be rapidly rewind (to the right) by Pushed the REW button. RECORDING Recording through the Built-in Microphone 1. Set the FUNCTION SELECTOR to the "TAPE" position. 2. Push the RECORD button. 3. Recording can be made through the microphone. 4. The unit will be automatically turned off at the end of the tape Recording of radio broadcasts 1. Set the FUNCTION SELECTOR to "RADIO" position and tune to the radio broadcast where is to be recorded. Set the volume of radio to an ordinary volume level. 2. Push the RECORD button. 3.
