Message 1 Message 3Message 2 An index is added. Recording continues. divide. The new message number flashes three times at the point you pressed INDEX. The message will be divided in two messages; however, the messages will be recorded without a break. To add an index during playback While playing back a message, press INDEX at the point you want to divide. The message is divided in two and the new message number flashes three times. An index mark is added and the following index numbers will increase by one. 1 Tip You can add an index after you have paused playback with XPAUSE (page 15). To play the message you marked with an index Press . or > to display the message number as the divided messages each have message numbers. To play the divided messages continuously Select “ON” for “CONT” as described in “Changing the Settings” on page 36. 24GB Combining messages by erasing the index Combining messages by erasing the index Message 1 Message 2 Message 3 Message 4 Message 5 An index is erased. In stop mode, follow the steps below: 1 Press . or > to display the number of the second of the two messages you want to combine. 2 While pressing INDEX, press ERASE for more than 1 second. “ID ERASE” will flash for 10 seconds. 3 Press ERASE while the display is flashing. The two messages are combined into one and the messages will be renumbered as in the illustration above. To cancel erasing Press xSTOP before step 3. Notes • After combining messages by erasing an index, the latter message’s alarm setting will be deleted. •Due to the recording system of an IC recorder, you may not be able to add or delete an index in some cases (page 41). Editing Messages 25GB Moving Messages to a Different Folder Moving Messages to a Different Folder Move Function You can move the recorded messages to another folder. xSTOP FOLDER NxPLAY/STOP Example: Moving Message 3 in Folder A to Folder C 1 Play back the message you want to move. 2 While playing back the message, press FOLDER to flash the indication of the folder to which you want to move the message (C in this case). The first and last 5 seconds of the message will be played back 10 times, while the folder indication and “MOVE” flash. 3 Press NxPLAY/STOP. To cancel moving the message(s) (Example: when Folder Press xSTOP before step 3. C had 6 messages) Note The move function does not duplicate a message in another folder. When you move a message to another folder, the one in the previous folder will be deleted. 26GB BOther Functions BOther Functions — Timer Recording You can start recording at a desired time. NxPLAY/STOP MENU ./> 1 Display the timer setting display. 1 Press MENU. The unit enters the menu mode and “ALARM” will be displayed. 2 Press . or > repeatedly to display “TIMER” and press NxPLAY/STOP. “OFF” starts to flash. Note The timer cannot be set if the clock has not been set . 3 Press . or > to flash “ON”. 4 Press NxPLAY/STOP. “START” is displayed for one second, and then “DATE” will flash in the display window. Other Functions Continued 27GB Starting Recording at a Desired Time Starting Recording at a Desired Time Timer Recording (continued) 2 Set the recording start date. • to start recording on a desired date 1 Press NxPLAY/STOP while “DATE” is flashing. 2 Press . or > to select the year digits and press NxPLAY/STOP. 3 Select the month and day digits in the same way. • to record once a week Press . or > to select the day of the week. • to record at the same time every day Press . or > to select “DAILY” and press NxPLAY/STOP. 3 Set the recording start time. 1 Press . or > to select the hour digits and press NxPLAY/STOP. 2 Press . or > to select the minute digits and press NxPLAY/STOP. “END” is displayed for one second, and then the hour digits of the recording end will flash in the display window. 4 Repeat Step 3 to set the recording end time. 5 Select the recording mode. Press . or > to select “SP” or “LP” and press NxPLAY/STOP. 6 Press MENU to exit the menu mode. The display will return to normal display and “ ” is displayed. At the set time, recording starts automatically. “ ” flashes on the display window during recording. When the recording ends, the unit will stop automatically at the beginning of the newly recorded message. 28GB To stop the timer recording To stop the timer recording To change the timer setting Press . or > in Step 2, 3 or 4 on page 28 to change the year, month, day or time and press NxPLAY/STOP. To cancel the timer recording setting Select “OFF” in Steps 1-3 on page 27 and press NxPLAY/STOP. Notes • You cannot set the timer to record more than one message. • When the timer recording starts, the recording mode selected in Step 5 is automatically selected. When the recording ends, the recording mode is reset to the initial setting. • Make sure that the remaining recording time is long enough for the timer recording. You cannot set the timer if the length of the timer recording...
