Using the Smart Share You can play video, photo and audio content on the unit by inserting a disc, connecting an USB device or using home network (DLNA). 1. Press HOME () to display the home menu. 2. Select [Smart Share] and press ENTER (b). a Displays all linked devices. b Displays video, photo or audio content. c Displays the file or folder on linked device. 33 Operating 4 Operating Playing the Linked Devices Playing a disc erot 1. Press B (OPEN/CLOSE), and place a disc on the disc tray. 2. Press B (OPEN/CLOSE) to close the disc tray. For the most Audio CD, BD-ROM and DVD-ROM discs, playback starts automatically. 3. Press HOME () and then select [Smart Share]. 4. Select disc icon. yyPlayback functions described in this manual are not always available in every files and media. Some functions can be restricted depending on many factors. yyDepending on the BD-ROM titles, an USB device connection may be needed for the proper playback. yyUnfinalized DVD-VR format discs may not be played in this player. yySome DVD-VR discs are made with CPRM data by DVD RECORDER. This unit cannot support these kinds of discs. ,,Note Playing Blu-ray 3D disc e This player can play the Blu-ray 3D disc which contains separate views for the left and right eyes. PreparationIn order to playback Blu-ray 3D title in stereoscopic 3D mode, you need to: yy Check your TV is 3D capable and has HDMI input(s). yy Wear 3D glasses to enjoy the 3D experience if it is necessary. yy Check whether the BD-ROM title is the Blu- ray 3D disc or not. yy Connect an HDMI cable (Type A, High Speed HDMI™ Cable) between the player’s HDMI output and TV’s HDMI input. 1. Press HOME (), and set the [3D Mode] option on the [Settings] menu to [On] (page 26). 2. Press B (OPEN/CLOSE), and place a disc on the disc tray. 3. Press B (OPEN/CLOSE) to close the disc tray. The playback starts automatically. 4. Refer to the owner’s manual of your 3D-ready TV for the further instruction. You may need to adjust the display settings and focus on your TV’s setting for the improved 3D effect. yyWatching a 3D content for a long period time may cause dizziness or tiredness. yyIt is not recommended to watch a video in 3D mode for infirm, child and pregnant woman. yyIf you are experiencing headache, tiredness or dizziness while viewing content in 3D, it is strongly recommended to stop the playback and rest until you feel normal. >>Caution Playing a file on disc/USB device yui This player can play video, audio and photo files contained in the disc or USB device. 1. Insert a data disc on the tray or connect an USB device. When you connect the USB device on the HOME menu, the player plays an audio file contained in the USB storage device automatically. If the USB storage device is containing various types of files, a menu for the file type selection will appear. File loading may takes few minutes depending on the number of content stored in the USB storage device. Press ENTER (b) while [Cancel] is selected to stop loading. 2. Press HOME (). 3. Select [Smart Share] and press ENTER (b). 4. Select the desired linked device in the category. 5. Select [Movie], [Photo] or [Music]. 6. Select a file using W/S/A/D, and press d(PLAY) or ENTER (b) to play the file. Notes on USB device yyThis player supports USB flash drive/external HDD formatted in FAT32 and NTFS when accessing files (music, photo, movie). However, for BD-Live, use the USB flash drive / external HDD formatted in FAT32. yyThis unit can support up to 4 partitions of the USB device. yyDo not extract the USB device during operation (play, etc.). yyAn USB device which requires additional program installation when you have connected it to a computer, is not supported. yyUSB device: USB device that supports USB1.1 and USB2.0. yyVideo, audio and photo files can be played. For details of operations on each file, refer to relevant pages. yyRegular back up is recommended to prevent data loss. yyIf you use an USB extension cable, USB HUB or USB Multi-reader, the USB device may not be recognized. yySome USB device may not work with this unit. yyDigital camera and mobile phone are not supported. yyUSB Port of the unit cannot be connected to PC. The unit cannot be used as a storage device. Playing a file on a network server yui This player can play video, audio and photo files located in a DLNA server through your home network. 1. Check the network connection and settings (page 19). 2. Press HOME (). 3. Select [Smart Share] and press ENTER (b). 4. Select a DLNA media server in the category. 5. Select [Movie], [Photo] or [Music]. 6. Select a file using W/S/A/D, and press d(PLAY) or ENTER (b) ...
