Replace the cover. To use the remote, point it at the remote sensor of the player. Operate the remote within 15 feet of the sensor and at an angle of +/- 60 degrees. Batteries in the remote will last for approximately 1 year. Replace the batteries if the remote control does not work. Do not mix old with new batteries, or different types of batteries. Remove the batteries from the remote if it will not be used for a long period of time. 2 x "AAA" 1.5V batteries Battery compartment cover WARNING • The batteries used in the remote control may present a fire or chemical burn if mistreated. Do not recharge, disassemble, incinerate, or heat the battery (~212°F). • Keep batteries away from children. Power Sunplv This unit should be used with 100-240V 50/60Hz AC wall outlets, only. Caution: • Do not connect the power plug to a power outlet other than that which is indicated here and on the label as this may result in the risk of fire or electric shock. • Do not handle the power plug with wet hands. CAUTION: Hearing experts advise against the constant use of personal stereos played at high volume. Constant high volume use can lead to hearing loss. If the player will not be used for a long period of time, disconnect the power and remove the battery from the remote control. 16 CONNECTIONS Connecting to an amplifier equipped with a Dolby Pro Logic Surround Rechargeable Battery Pack • For new or exhausted rechargeable battery pack, we recommend it be recharged for 4 hours. • To charge the battery, just connect the AC adaptor. • If the battery does not work to your expectation, please consult the COBY service center.Do not attempt to replace or repair the battery by yourself unless your are a qualified service personnel (NI-MH Rechargeable Battery Pack) • The battery can be recharged about 300 times without obvious performance drop. Note: • Use the special charger. • Never dispose of in fire or heat up. • Do not use in high temperature or near heat sources. • Do not open the cover. Refer servicing only to qualified service personnel. • Do not charge up the battery pack while the DVD player is working with the battery pack. • Danger of explosion if battery is incorrectly replaced. Replace only with the same or equivalent type. Low Battery Detection • The unit will access to STANDBY mode automatically when the battery is low. 17 BASIC OPERATIONS Basic Playback 1. Prepare the connections and power supply. 2. Open the disc compartment cover manually, load a disc with the label-side facing up. Close the disc compartment cover manually. • If a single-sided disc is loaded upside-down, the player will display “NO DISC” or “Invalid Disc”. 3- Start playback. Press PLAY to start playback (some discs may start playing automatically). Play/Pause/Stop • Press © to play the disc for the first time. • Press © during playback to pause. Press Q again to resume playback. • Press O during playback to stop the disc (“Pre-Stop”). Press © to resume playback. • Press O when the disc is “Pre-Stopped" to stop playback completely. (When Q is pressed, the disc will start playing from the beginning.) Previous/Next (Skip) • Press Q to skip to the next track (DVD, CD, etc). • Press © to return to the previous track (DVD, CD, etc).
