Displays the wide picture on the whole scr een automatically and cuts of f the portions that do not fit. 16:9 4:3 LETTER BOX 4:3 PAN SCAN Note Depending on the DVD, “4:3 LETTER BOX“ may be selected automatically instead of “4:3 PAN SCAN” and vice versa. 56 x SCREEN SAVER Turns on and of f the scr een saver . If you tur n on the screen saver , the scr een saver image appears when you leave the player or the r emote in pause or stop mode for 15 minutes, or when you play back a CD for mor e than 15 minutes. The scr een saver will help pr event your display device fr om becoming damaged. • ON: tur ns on the scr een saver . • OFF: turns of f the scr een saver . x BACKGROUND Selects the backgr ound color or pictur e on the TV scr een in stop mode or while playing a CD. • JACKET PICTURE: The jacket pictur e appears in the backgr ound, but only when the jacket pictur e is alr eady recorded on the disc (for instance, a CD-EXTRA). • PICTURE MEMORY: Your favorite pictur e appears in the backgr ound. For an explanation of how to stor e your favorite scene r ecorded on the disc for the backgr ound pictur e, see the following section “Storing a picture in memor y.” • GRAPHICS: A preset pictur e stor ed in the player appears in the backgr ound. • BLUE: The background color is blue. • BLACK: The background color is black.
