• Do NOT overlap combustible materials onto appliance front. • Install combustible materials only up to specified clearances on top, front and side. • Seal joints between the fi nished wall and appliance top and sides using only a 300. F minimum sealant. Fire Risk. Do NOT obstruct air inlet or outlet grilles. Do NOT modify grilles. • Modifying or covering grilles could cause temperature rise and fi re hazard. Finishing materials must not interfere with: • Air fl ow through grilles or louvers. • Operation of louvers or doors. • Access for service. Risk of Fire • Non-combustible clearances MUST be maintained. • Sheetrock, wood or other combustibles must NOT be used as sheathing or facing in the non-combustible zone. • See Section 11 for proper clearances. • See Section 1 for combustible/noncombustible defi nitions. Finishing material within this thickness range can be brought to 1/2 inch behind the door top and sides. These non-combustible fi nishing materials must never overlap or obstruct the air outlet/inlet grille areas. Figure 11.5 Finishing Material Thickness greater than 1-1/4 inch A steel template (Cerona-36 Template or Cerona-42 Template) is available for purchase to use instead of constructing a template. Non-combustible facing material is supplied with this appliance. This material extends from the header to one inch above the appliance bottom and from framing stud to framing stud. Figure 11.6 Facing Template Dimensions IMPORTANT INSTALLATION Note: Please note that there are four holes or dots on the template to assist in positioning the template. These holes or dots should line up with the door mounting holes on the unit to ensure proper placement of the door after fi nishing materials are installed. Remove Shipping Materials Remove shipping materials from inside or underneath the fi rebox. B. Clean the Appliance Clean/vacuum any sawdust that may have accumulated inside the fi rebox or underneath in the control cavity. C.
