2 machine settings 2.1 language English Change the display language. Change the machine water hardness setting. With the water hardness function you can adjust your machine to the level of hardness of the water you use, so that the machine will request descaling at the right time. Measure the water hardness as shown on page 6. 2.2 water hardness 3 2.3 acoustic alarm on Activate/deactivate the acoustic tone each time a button is pressed. Activate/deactivate the message to replace the water filter. By activating this function, the machine informs the user when the water filter needs to be replaced. 2.4 water filter alert on Clean the internal circuits in order to guarantee that beverages are only made with fresh water. Navigate the click wheel with your finger: 4 energy saving Set the time which must pass before the machine enters the energy saving mode (stand-by). By default, the delay time for this function is set at 60 minutes. 4.1 stand-by 60 Activate the switch-on and energy saving mode reactivation times (standby) for the specific days of the week. The machine is not connected to the power source. Connect the machine to the power source. The plug has not been plugged into the back of the machine. Insert the plug into the machine’s power socket. The coffee blend is unsuitable or coffee is not freshly roasted. Change coffee blend. The SBS dial is turned towards the left. Turn the SBS dial to the right. The brew group does not come out. The brew group is out of place. Turn the machine on. Close the service door. The brew group is automatically placed in the correct position. The dregdrawer is inserted. Remove the dregdrawer first, then the brew group. The machine grinds the coffee beans but no coffee comes out. (see note) The water tank is empty. Fill the water tank and prime the circuit again. The brew group is dirty. Clean the brew group. Rare event that occurs when the machine is automatically adjusting the dose. Brew a few coffees as described in the manual. The coffee is too weak. (see note) The coffee grind is too fine. Adjust the grinder to a coarse grind (see page 12). The brew group is dirty. Clean the brew group. Coffee leaks out of the dispensing head. The dispensing head is clogged. Clean the dispensing holes with a soft cloth. The machine grinds the coffee, but coffee does not brew. The opti-dose adjustment is not at the optimal setting....
