Dear customer, you have made the right choice! Your new Philishave hair clipper with contour following comb and Precision Zoom Lock` ensures a perfect end result every time you use it. . To enjoy the Philishave hair clipper for a long time and for optimal performance, we advise you to read the following information. . In the enclosed booklet 'Modelling and Styling' and on the interactive instruction CD-ROM you can find instructions and many useful tips on how to achieve the haircut you want. Important Appliance . Check if the voltage indicated on the mains plug corresponds to the mains voltage in your home before you connect the appliance. . Make sure the appliance and the adapter do not get wet. . Use, charge and store the appliance at a temperature between 15c and 35c. CD-ROM . Protect the instruction CD-ROM from dust, humidity and from extremely high or low temperatures. . Do not put the CD-ROM in direct sunlight for a prolonged period. . Do not scratch the surface of the CD-ROM. . Only write on the CD-ROM with a special marker. . If the CD-ROM is stored in a cold environment, do not use it until it has reached room temperature. . Insert the CD-ROM with the printed side facing upwards. Charging Charge the appliance for 8 hours before you star t using it for the first time. 1 Make sure the appliance is switched off while charging. ENGLISH C C 4 1016 21. . . 2 3 Insert the appliance plug into the appliance. Insert the mains plug into the wall socket. B The pilot light will go on to indicate that the appliance is charging. B This appliance is suitable for mains voltages from 220 to 240 Volts. B Only use the cord supplied with the appliance. Do not charge the appliance for more than 24 hours. A fully charged appliance has a cordless operating time of up to 30 minutes. Optimising the lifetime of the battery -After the appliance has been charged for the first time, do not recharge it between clipping sessions. Continue using it and recharge it only when the batter y is (almost) empty. -Discharge the batter y completely twice a year by letting the motor run until it stops. -Do not keep the cord plugged into a wall socket all the time. -If the appliance has not been used for a long period of time, it must be recharged for 8 hours. Corded clipping . To use the hair clipper connected to the mains: Switch the hair clipper off, connect it to the mains and wait a few seconds before switching it on. If the batter y is completely empty, wait a few minutes before switching the appliance on. Do not run the appliance from the mains when the batter y is fully charged. Preparing for clipping . Also see the interactive instruction CD-ROM. Clipping with comb attachment: Select the small or large comb attachment, depending on the desired hair length. Hair length settings . The hair length settings are indicated in millimetres on the arms of the comb attachment. The settings correspond to the remaining hair length after cutting. -The small comb cuts hair to a length of 4 mm, 7 mm, 10 mm, 13 mm, 16 mm, 19 mm or 21 mm. -The large comb cuts the hair to a length of 24 mm, 27 mm, 30 mm, 33 mm, 35 mm, 38 mm or 40 mm. ENGLISH 4101621. . . 1 Slide the comb attachment onto the rails on the appliance until you hear a click. C Make sure that the arms of the comb attachment have been properly slid onto the rails on both sides. 2 Set the comb to the desired hair length by turning the hair length adjustment ring (Precision Zoom Lock`) to the right or to the left until the comb has been set to the desired hair length. C . We advise you to start clipping at the highest setting (large comb) and to reduce the hair length setting in small steps until you reach the desired hair length. 3 Switch the appliance on. . Choose the appropriate hair cutting method from the booklet 'Modelling and Styling' or consult the interactive instruction CD-ROM. Tip: If a lot of hair has accumulated in the comb, remove the comb attachment and blow and/or shake the hair from the comb. Removing the comb does not change the hair length setting. Tip: Write down the hair length settings selected to create a cer tain hairstyle as a reminder for future clipping sessions. Clipping without comb attachment You can use the clipper without comb attachment to contour the nape hairline and the area round the ears.You can also find instructions and tips on the instruction CD-ROM. 1 Remove the comb attachment by pulling it off the appliance. C Never pull at the flexible top of the comb attachment. Always pull at the arms. The comb attachment keeps the cutting unit at a cer tain distance from your head.This means that, if you use the clipper without the comb attachment, your hair will be cut off ver y close to the skin. ENGLISH Cleaning C C C C Make sure the appliance is switched off and disconnected from the mains before you start cleaning it. Remove the comb attachment.
