Always use the speakers and microphone accessory cable, or use an equivalent cable with length of 59" (1.5 m ). Connect the video signal cable referring to the previous section. Connecting to an IBM compatible computer Connecting to a MAC A stereo sound card (example: sound source such as the Sound Blaster) is necessary. The speakers must be usable with stereo output, and there must be a microphone input function. PH To use speakers Connect the SPK OUT cable (caution: do rot mistake right and left) from the sound card (example: Sound Blaster etc.) on the rear of the computer to AUDIO IN on the rear of the monitor. (L) (RCA Phono plug) (R) To use speakers Connect AUDIO IN on the rear of the monitor to the sound output port (sound output icon) on the rear of the computer via a cable with stereo mini plugs. -o (03.5mm Stereo mini plug) |~2~| To use the built-in microphone Connect MIC OUT on the rear of the monitor to MIC IN on the sound card (example: Sound Blaster etc.) on the rear of the computer via a stereo mini jack cable. 2a To use the built-in microphone Connect MIC OUT on the rear of the monitor to the sound input port (sound input icon) on the rear of the computer via a cable with stereo mini plugs. Sound is not output from the speakers when headphones are used. 3a To use headphones Connect the headphone output terminals on the left side of the monitor to a pair of commercially available audio stereo headphones, speakers, etc. via a cable with stereo mini jacks. Sound is not output from the speakers when headphones are used. (03.5mm Stereo mini plug) [4] To use an external microphone Connect MIC IN on the left side of the monitor to a commercially available audio microphone via a stereo mini jack cable.Also connect MIC OUT on the rear of the monitor to MIC IN on the sound card (example: Sound Blaster) on the rear of the computer via a stereo mini jack cable. Sound cannot be input via the built-in microphone when an external microphone is used. 4a | To use an external microphone Connect MIC IN on the left side of the monitor to a commercially available audio microphone via a stereo mini jack cable. Also connect MIC OUT on the rear of the monitor to MIC IN on the rear of the computer via a stereo mini jack cable. Sound cannot be input via the built-in microphone when an external microphone is used. Turn the display monitor power switch ON before turning the computer switch ON. Caution: • If the computer has a stereo type sound output, do not connect the monaural plug.
