Volume knob Adjusts volume of speaker. C/V (Skip/Search) - Goes to next or previous file/track. - Searches backward or forward (Press and hold) TUNING (-/+) Tunes in the desired radio station. h EQ Selects a sound effect mode. i USB Port Connects an USB device. Rear Panel (Case 1) a FM ANTENNA b VIDEO OUT Connects to a TV with video inputs. c POWER IN d Speaker connector (R/L) Rear Panel (Case 2) a FM ANTENNA b VIDEO OUT Connects to a TV with video inputs. c POWER IN d Speaker connector (R/L) Connecting 13 2 Connecting Connecting to speakers Case 1 Connect the speaker cable plugs to the SPEAKER connector. Connect the red cable plug to the R connector and the the white one to the L connector. Speaker Color Position R Red Right L White Left Case 2 To connect the cable to the unit, press each plastic finger pad to open the connection terminals on the unit. Insert the wire and release the finger pad. Connect the black stripe of each wire to the terminals marked - (minus) and the other end to the terminals marked + (plus). The speakers contain magnet parts, so color irregularity may occur on the TV screen or PC monitor screen. Please use the speakers far away from either TV screen or PC monitor. >>Caution Connecting 14 2 Connecting Connections to Your TV Connect the VIDEO OUT jack on the unit to the video in jack on the TV using a video cable. You can hear the sound through the system’s speakers. : Yellow yyPlease refer to the manuals of your TV, Stereo System or other devices as necessary to make the best connections. yyMake sure the unit is connected directly to the TV. Tune the TV to the correct video input channel. yyDo not connect your unit via your VCR. The image could be distorted by the copy protection system. ,,Note Antenna Connection Be sure to fully extend the FM wire antenna. FM antenna Optional Equipment Connection USB Connection Connect the USB port of USB Memory (or MP3 player, etc.) to the USB port on the front of the unit. USB Removing the USB Device from the unit1. Choose a different function/mode press Z twice in a row. 2. Remove the USB device from the unit. ,,Note PORT. IN Connection Connect an output of portable device (MP3 or PMP etc) to the PORT. IN connector. Portable cableportable device Listening to music from your external device The unit can be used to play the music from many types of external device. 1. Connect the external device to the PORT.IN connector of the unit. 2. Turn the power on by pressing POWER (1). 3. Select the PORTABLE function by pressing FUNC. on the unit or FUNCTION on the remote control. 4. Turn the external device and start it playing. System Setting 16 3 System Setting Adjust the Setup settings By using the Setup menu, you can make various adjustments to items such as picture and sound. You can also set a language for the subtitles and the Setup menu, among other things. For details on each Setup menu item. yyIt is available only on DVD/CD or USB mode. yyBe sure of complete stop status before adjust the settings. It may not be able to change some setup menu in pause or resume stop status. yyIt is highly recommended to set the OSD language in advance of the others. ,,Note To display and exit the Setup Menu 1. [GENERAL] Menu TV DISPLAY Select a TV aspect ratio option according to your TV type. [4 : 3 PANSCAN] Select when a standard 4:3 TV is connected. Displays pictures cropped to fill your TV screen. Both sides of the picture are cut off. [4 : 3 LETTERBOX] Select when a standard 4:3 TV is connected. Displays theatrical images with masking bars above and below the picture. [16 : 9] Select when a 16:9 wide TV is connected. The 4:3 picture is adjusted horizontally (in a linear proportion) to fill the entire screen. OSD LANGUAGE Select a language for the Setup menu and on- screen display. System Setting 17 3 System Setting SCREEN SAVER The screen saver appears when you leave the unit in Stop mode for about 5 minutes. The screen saver will not appear when you leave the player in pause status. ,,Note LAST MEMORY (DVD only) This unit memorizes last scene from the last disc that is viewed. The last scene remains in memory even if you remove the disc from the unit or switch off the unit. If you load a disc that has the scene memorized, the scene is automatically recalled. It is not available to save the last scene when you change to the other functions. ,,Note [AUDIO] Menu ANALOG AUDIO [DOWNMIX] DOWNMIX means that multi-channel surround sound are mixed to produce 2 channel sound suitable for this unit.
