For example, you can record the right hand while listening to the left hand model performance only (and vice versa). The TRACK 1 and TRACK 2 indicators will flash along with the song title. ©Select the track for recording your performance. Select (press) TRACK 2 ( ) for recording the right hand, and TRACK 1 ( ) for the left hand. Recording will not start unless you select a track. *When a track is selected, an asterisk (*) appears in front of the song title in the SONG screen. If you record directly into the library, you will lose the existing model song. So the selected model song is first copied to the “User's Song” section automatically. This is the place in which you can freely record or erase your practice playing. The asterisk indicates that the selected model song has been copied to the “User’s Song" section. Please note that any previously recorded song will be erased the moment the mark appears. ©To change the tempo, press j = . Set a new tempo using and/or 15 Now Let’s Record Your Own Performance ©Start recording. ♦Key-on Recording Recording starts the instant you start playing. For example, if you record your right hand practice ( indicator will light), the model left hand performance begins to playback the moment you press a note on the keyboard. Because the PR-1 does not use magnetic tape for recording, there is no need to start playing immediately upon pressing *To cancel recording, press ♦Count-in Recording Press The metronome “beeps” for two measures and the measure number on the display changes from -2 -* -1 -» 1 -*■ 2....... Recording starts after two measures of beeps (on measure 1). If you record the right hand( | Jj | indicator will light), the model left hand performance starts at the beginning of measure 1 after the two measure count-in. You can record a song which has a rest on the first beat of the first measure. * Note that when using Count-in Recording, the recording will proceed even if you do not play the keyboard. ©When you have finished playing, press Recording is always made in the “User's Song” section. In other words, any song which you have just recorded can be found in the section formally called “User’s Song”. There will be an asterisk (*) in front of the original song title. This means that the original model performance remains intact. However, since the “User’s Song” has changed to “*......”, the “User’s Song” screen will no longer appear if you press CIS and A and/or T Instead, you’ll see the “* screen. ©Using the metronome When you turn the metronome on, it will start to beep at the set tempo. When using “Count-in Recording”, turn the metronome off (the indicator light turned off) if you only wish to hear the metronome during the two count-in measures. As already explained, recording is made in the “User’ s Song” section (see P.15). Any song already recorded with a model performance is stored in the “User’s Song” section. So the previous recording must be erased before recording another song (with the PR-1, a recorded song is not erased by turning the power off). To erase an existing song, select the “New Song” screen. If nothing is recorded in the “User’s Song”, you can record here. Now Let’s Record Your Own Performance ©Press 03 . The markers (£) will appear in the SONG screen. ©Press t to select the “New Song” screen. The “New Song” is always empty. ©Press The indicator is turned on. The TRACK 1 and TRACK 2 indicator will flash along with the display “New Song”. If you want to stop recording, press a or n . Songs previously recorded up to this point will not be erased. ©Press either Track button. The indicator of the TRACK button you pressed will light continuously and the display will read “User’s Song”. An empty “song” is copied to the “User’s Song” section and any existing recording will be erased from the “User’s Song” section.
