and play the guitar or keyboard to the performance of the connected unit. • Featuring stereo inputs, the TM-3 can be directly connected to a stereo keyboard or stereo effects (e.g. reverb, chorus). • Provided with guitar amplifier simulation circuits, the TM-3 creates exceedingly realistic guitar sound. This also can be used as a line driver that can be directly connected to a mixer or audio equipment. • This unit features two types of headphone jacks; mini and standard phone types which can be simultaneously used if you like. ■ PANEL DESCRIPTION o Mode Selector Switch This switches the Guitar mode and Keyboard/Bass mode. When using a guitar, set this to the Guitar mode. The Guitar mode turns the unit to a guitar line driver that creates such sounds as processed in a guitar amplifier. When using a keyboard or bass guitar, set this switch to the Keyboard/Bass mode, so that fiat characteristics are obtained. — What is a Line Driver?................................................................................................................................................................. When an electric guitar ts directly connected to a mixer or audio equipment, or headphones are used, the sound will be too metallic and unusuai for comfortable listening. To resolve this, the TM-3 features guitar simulation circuits to create sounds similar to those processed through a guitar amplifier. 0 Headphone/Line Out Jacks Connect headphones to this jack. Both mini and standard phone type jacks are provided to match the plug of your headphones. It is also possible to use both jacks simultaneously. If you wish to use this jack for a Line Output to connect a mixer or audio equipment, use the optional stereo cord PCS-31 for stereo output. Q 9V DC IN Jack (AC Adaptor Jack) Connect an optional AC adaptor (BOSS PSA-120, 220, or 240) to this jack for AC operation. * Using the AC adaptor, you can enjoy long and stable operation without having to worry about the battery's life. 0 Power Indicator This lights up when the unit is switched on. it also serves as a battery check. When it becomes dimmer or does not light at ali, battery replacement is required. 0 Power Switch 0 Stereo In Jack Signals from headphone stereo or CD player can be fed into the TM-3 through this jack. Using the supplied stereo mini cord, connect here and you can hear the performance of a cassette tape or CD in stereo. * Adjust the volume on the headphone stereo or CD player. o Input Jacks L/R (MONO) Connect an electric/electronic musical instrument such as electric guitar or effect unit. * To connect a stereo effects (e.g. reverb, chorus) or stereo keyboard, use both L and ft jacks. To connect an electric guitar/bass or a monaural effects, use input R jack (MONO). * 'When two instruments are connected, the Level Control works on both L and R, so you must adjust the balance on both instruments. 0 Level Control This controls the input level. [How to replace battery] * Use a 6F22 9V battery 0 Press and Slide the battery cover at the bottom of the unit to remove it. (2) Take out the battery from the battery box, then disconnect the battery snap cord from the battery. (3) Connect a new battery to the battery snap cord, then replace the battery into the battery box. * Make sure that the polarity of the battery is correct.
