Using your notebook Sony Notebook User Guide Combinations/ Feature Functions 31 nN + (F4) : speaker volume Adjusts the built-in speaker volume. To increase volume, press + < F4> and then or To decrease volume, press +< F4> and then or + (F5): brightness control Adjusts the brightness of the LCD. To increase lightness intensity, press +< F5> and then or To decrease light intensity, press +< F5> and then or + external display / (F7) *: switch to the Toggles between the LCD, external display (connected to the monitor connector) and both LCD and external display. Num Lock Turns on when the number keys in the numeric keypad are active. Turns off when the alphanumeric character keys in the keypad area are active. Caps Lock Turns on when the characters appear in uppercase as you type. The key lowers the c ase of typed characters when Caps Lock is on. Turns off when the characters appear in lowercase as you type ( unless you hold down the key) . Scroll Lock Turns on when the screen scrolls differently ( depends on the application, no effect in many applications) . Turns off when the information moves across the display normally. You can point to, select, drag, and scroll 33 nNobjects on the screen using the built-in touchpad. You can turn (2) and/or press (3) the Jog Dial™ to scroll the window, select software, adjust the internal speaker volume, etc. A Jog Dial Navigator folder was created on your notebook. It is located in the Start, All Programs menu and contains the following items: Folder Browser Opens the Jog Dial Folder Browser window, where you can rotate the Jog Dial™ and browse all the folders on your computer and open any drive, folder, application or document. Jog Dial Setting Opens the Jog Dial Setting window. See Changing Jog Dial Navigator settings (page 40). Window Switcher Select to display a window containing all your open applications.
