Find the SCM application in the all-in-one disk that comes with the package for easy and convenient operation. It is strongly recommended to install the SCM application. • Touch this sensor to activate the Media Player function which enhances the playback quality from your display Media Player device and sound system. • Touch this sensor to increase the fan speed to cool down the overall temperature of the notebook. • Touch this sensor repeatedly to turn this function on or off Cooler Boost recurrently. • This keyboard is equipped with colorful flash keyboard LEDs which are mounted beneath the keyboard. Keyboard LED Backlit Switch • Touch this sensor repeatedly to recurrently switch the keyboard LED on; or set the keyboard LED illumination to Gaming Mode; or switch the keyboard LED off. • Touch this sensor to turn Airplane mode on or off recurrently. • For flight safety consideration, it is always recommended to turn Airplane Mode on when you are in flight. Airplane mode • Refer to the Airplane mode switch icon under [Start/ Settings/ Change PC Settings/ Wireless/ Airplane mode] on the desktop to check the device status. • To enable the WLAN or Bluetooth function, please refer to the instructions provided in “Wireless Activation for Windows 8.” in chapter 3. 2-4 • Touch this sensor to switch the display off instantly to economize the power consumption. Display Off • Hit any key at the keyboard to switch on the display. • Touch this sensor to activate the gaming gadget utility providing users an astonished and efficient solution in G-Panel game playing. Status LED • Caps Lock: Glowing amber when the Caps Lock function is activated. • Num Lock: Glowing amber when the Num Lock function is activated. 4. Power Button / Power LED / GPU Mode LED Power Button • Press the power button to turn the notebook power ON and OFF. • Press the power button to awake the notebook from the sleep state. Power/ GPU Mode LED • Glowing white when the notebook power is turned on, and the UMA GPU mode is selected. • Glowing amber when discrete GPU mode is selected. • LED goes off when this function is turned off. 2-5 Introductions 6. Status LED Hard Disk/ Optical Drive Device In-use Blinking amber when the system is accessing the hard disk drive or the optical drive device. Quick Launch [Fn] Buttons Use the [Fn] buttons on the keyboard to activate the specific applications or tools. With the help of these quick launch buttons, users will be able to do work more efficiently. • Press and hold the Fn button, and then press the F4 button to launch the User Defined application.
