See the separate sections below for more information on how to use these modes. general procedure The following steps are general steps that apply to all three steaming modes. 1 Put the plug in the wall socket. The light in the on/off button goes on and the default steaming time (20 minutes) appears on , the display (Fig. 14). 2 Choose one of the two steaming modes and follow the required steps (see the sections for the different steaming modes below). Note:You cannot use both steaming modes at the same time. Nor is it possible to use the meal program and chef program at the same time. Note: If you steam large quantities of food, stir the food halfway through the steaming process with a kitchen utensil with a long handle. Make sure you wear oven mitts. Note: During the first 5 minutes of the steaming process, the turbo light lights up.This indicates that the steamer uses extra power to heat up quickly. 10 EnglisH 3 When the steaming process has finished, the appliance beeps 5 times and then automatically switches to the keep-warm mode (see section ‘Keep-warm mode’). 4 After use, carefully remove the lid. Beware of hot steam that comes out of the appliance when you remove the lid. Note:To prevent burns, wear oven mitts when you remove the lid. Remove the lid slowly and away from you. Let condensation drip off the lid into the steaming basket. Note: Use a kitchen utensil with long handles to remove the food from the steaming baskets. 5 When you remove a steaming basket, let condensation drip off the basket in the underlying steaming basket or the drip tray. 6 Remove the plug from the wall socket and let the steamer cool down completely before you remove the drip tray. 7 Empty the water tank after each use by tilting the base backwards and pouring the water from the back of the base (Fig. 3). Be careful when you remove the drip tray and empty the water tank, because the water in both of them may still be hot, even if the other parts of the appliance have cooled down already. Note: If the water runs out during steaming, the ‘water tank empty’ light goes on to indicate that you need to refill the water tank (Fig. 15). Note: If you want to steam more food and need more water, you can add small quantities of water through the water refill spout to refill the water tank. Note:The appliance automatically goes into the standby mode if it has not been used for 2 minutes. Press the start/stop button to activate the control panel again. manual mode Press the timer up or down button to select the required steaming time (Fig. 16). , , Press the start/stop button to start steaming (Fig. 17). The steaming process starts.The start/stop light and the turbo light flash slowly and the timer counts down the set steaming time (Fig. 18). When the set steaming time has elapsed, the appliance beeps and switches to the keep-warm mode.The keep-warm light goes on (Fig. 19). Program mode: meal program Use this mode to activate the steamer quickly. 1 2 Use this program to prepare a complete meal with different preparation times for each steaming basket. The appliance automatically star ts to steam the food in the steaming basket with the longest preparation time and beeps to let you know when to place the steaming basket or baskets with a shor ter preparation time.The last steaming basket has the lowest preparation time. Note: If you want to prepare a meal without using all three steaming baskets, only set the timer for the steaming baskets you are using. 1 Press the meal program button. (Fig. 20) The light in the meal program button goes on and the three steaming basket buttons light , up (Fig. 21). 2 Press steaming basket button 1, 2 or 3 to select one of the steaming baskets. (Fig. 22) The corresponding light starts to flash. , EnglisH 11 3 Press the timer up and down buttons to set the required preparation time for the steaming basket you selected. (Fig. 23) 4 ,5 Press the steaming basket button you are setting the time for again to confirm. (Fig. 24) The dot below the steaming basket button goes on to indicate that the time has been set. Repeat steps 2 to 4 until you have set the time for all steaming baskets you want to use. 6 Put the ingredients in the steaming baskets.When you use all three steaming baskets, put the food with the longest preparation time in the smallest steaming basket (1), the food with the second-longest preparation time in the medium steaming basket (2) and the food with the shortest preparation time in the largest steaming basket (3). 7 Place the steaming basket with the longest preparation time on the steamer base. 8 , , Press the start/stop button (Fig. 17). The steaming process for the steaming basket with the longest preparation time starts.The start/stop light flashes slowly and the timer counts down the steaming time. After some time the appliance beeps and the light of the steaming basket with the second- longest preparation time flashes quickly to indicate that you have to place the next steaming bask...
