REMOVABLE TEMPERATURE PROBE WITH 10 FEET CABLE • Registers outdoor temperature REAR VIEW E D F GETTING STARTED SELECT TEMPERATURE DISPLAY IN • The temperature probe can be placed indoors or outdoors, the thermometer must be placed indoors (refer to SECURING TEMPERATURE PROBE OUTDOORS section). • We recommend using alkaline batteries. • Avoid using rechargeable batteries. (Rechargeable batteries cannot maintain correct power requirements). • Open the battery compartment door. • Install 2 batteries (UM-3 or “AA” size 1.5V) matching the polarity as shown in the battery compartment. • Replace the battery compartment door. GENERAL OPERATION After batteries are installed; theindoor and outdoor temperaturereadings will be displayed at thesame time. The outdoor CELSIUS OR FAHRENHEIT Press C°/F° button to select the temperature in Celsiusor Fahrenheit. LOW BATTERY WARNING A low-battery indicator [ ] will appear on the displaywarning that the batteries need replacement. THERMOMETER PLACEMENT Thermometer can be placed on the flat surface, such asdesk etc. as well as wall-mounted. For wall mounting, drive the screw (not included) intothe wall until the screw head extending about 0.14 inch. For accurate temperature measurement, mount thethermometer in an area with free air flow. SECURING TEMPERATURE PROBE OUTDOORS temperature will appear on thelarger section of the unit’s display with the iconOUT and indoor temperature will appear in thesmaller section with the icon IN. • Drive a small screw (not included) into the wall at the location selected for the temperature measurement• Hang the temperature probe wire attachment loop onto the screw MAXIMUM AND MINIMUM READINGS The maximum and minimum record of the indoor and outdoor temperatures will be automatically stored inthe unit’s memory. To display the minimum, maximum or the current • Route the temperature probe 10 feet cable through the window or pre-drilled hole. • Locate the temperature probe away from direct sunlight and heavy precipitation temperature readings press theMEMORY button. To clear the temperaturememory, press and hold theMEMORY button for two seconds and all previously stored readings will beerased (current, minimum and maximum temperaturereadings will be the same). 6 7 PRECAUTIONS PRECAUTIONS This product is engineered to give you years ofsatisfactory service if handled carefully. Here are a fewprecautions: • Do not immerse the units in water. • Do not clean the units with abrasive or corrosive materials. They may scratch the plastic parts and corrode the electronic circuits. • Do not subject the product to excessive force, shock, dust, temperature, or humidity, which may result in malfunctions, shorter lifespan, damaged batteries, and damaged parts. • Do not tamper with the units internal components. Doing so will invalidate the warranty and may cause damage. These units contain no user-serviceable parts. • Use only fresh batteries. Do not mix new and old batteries.
