This product must be burned only in a fully vented (if indoors), non-combustible fire pit with the damper completely open (if indoors) and the chimney free of any obstructions or restrictions. The fire pit must be designed and approved to burn wood. The minimum permanent, free opening in the fireplace chimney must be 8 inches in diameter (50 sq. inches) or greater (for indoor installations). IT IS THE HOMEOWNER’S RESPONSIBILITY TO ASSURE THAT THEIR FIRE PIT HAS ADEQUATE DRAFT (for indoor installation only). GENERAL INFORMATION DO NOT USE A NATURAL GAS BURNER FOR PROPANE OR A PROPANE BURNER FOR NATURAL GAS. WHEN USING PROPANE GAS (LPG) AN AUTOMATIC PILOT SYSTEM MUST BE INSTALLED. 1. There are many different local codes for gas fireplaces. The installation of Aquatic Glassel glass must conform to your local codes, or in the absence of local codes, conform to the National Fuel Gas Code (ANSI Z223.1 1999). 2. Periodically, the glass may be dusted with a soft feather duster. The top layer may also be scooped up and taken to a water source and washed. 3. Do not burn wood with this product. Page 1 of 3 Step 1 Clean out your fire pit (Figure 1). Remove old burner (unless it can be re-used). Attach your new burner with the flex line provided. Hint - unscrew the fitting on each end of the flex line. Screw the fittings to the burner and gas line first. Then screw the flex line to each fitting. Position the burner to the center and 2 to 3 inches below the rim of the pit by gently bending the flex line. Figure 1 Step 2_ Now pour in the crushed lava rock (Figure 2) while holding the burner in position. Pour in just enough lava rock to create a flat surface about an inch below the burner. Then switch to finely crushed lava rock (pea size), filling until the lava rock is flush with the top of the burner. Also See Figure 4. Figure 2 Page 2 of 3 Step 3 Now pour and shape 2 inches of glass fill. (Figure 3 and 4) Your installation is now complete.
