Read all instructions Failure to follow all instructions listed below may result in injury. SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS Work area safety Keep work area clean and well lit. Cluttered or dark areas invite accidents. Keep children and bystanders away while installing or servicing the Lights. Distractions can cause you to lose control. Personal safety Stay alert, watch what you are doing and use common sense when installing the Lights. Do not install while you are tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol or medication. Use safety equipment. Always wear eye protection. Safety equipment such as dust mask or work gloves used for appropriate conditions will reduce injuries. Light use and care Do not use the Light if the switch does not turn it on and off. Any product that cannot be controlled with the switch must be repaired. Disconnect the battery before making any adjustments, changing accessories, or storing the Lights. Maintain the Lights. Check for misalignment or breakage of parts and any other condition that may affect operation. If damaged, have the Light repaired before use. Service Have your Lights serviced by a qualified repair person using only identical replacement parts. Specific Safety Rules Maintain labels and nameplates on the tool. These carry important safety information. If unreadable or missing, contact Harbor Freight Tools for a replacement. This product is not a toy. Keep it out of reach of children. Dispose of batteries in a manner appropriate for their type according to State, Local and Federal laws and regulations. Specifications Battery One Ni-Cd, AA 1.2V, 600mAh per Light (included) Unpacking When unpacking, check to make sure that the item is intact and undamaged. If any parts are missing or broken, please call Harbor Freight Tools at the number shown on the cover of this manual as soon as possible. Initial Set Up Instructions Read all warning sections at the beginning of this manual including all text under subheadings therein before set up or use of this product. Note: For additional information regarding the parts listed in the following pages, refer to the Assembly Diagram near the end of this manual. Open the battery cover on the bottom of the unit to verify that battery polarity is correct. Be careful not to pull on the wires connected to the cover, damaging the wires will render the unit dysfunctional. If necessary, remove tabs between the battery and the post. The battery must make contact with the post to operate. Take an Inner Cover (2), place it over the light bulb and rotate it clockwise until the tabs on the Inner Cover are underneath the lip on the Cap. Turn the Solar Light on. Place an Outer Cover (3) over the Inner Cover and rotate it clockwise until the Tabs on the Outer Cover are underneath the lip on the Cap. Examine the area where the Solar Light is to be placed. Make sure there are no utility lines beneath the surface that might be damaged. The Solar Light can either be placed on the Shaft now, or a Connector (5) can be used to connect another Shaft and raise the height of the Light. Repeat these steps to assemble all the lights. Operating Instructions Before first use, ensure that each Solar Light receives a full day’s exposure to direct sunlight. This will charge the batteries. The Solar Light will turn on automatically when it gets dark. Do not install the Solar Light near a nighttime light source. A bright light source will prevent the Light from turning on at night. Maintenance And Servicing Procedures not specifically explained in this manual must be performed only by a qualified technician. Turn the Power Switch of the light to its “OFF” position before performing any inspection, maintenance, or cleaning procedures. Cleaning, Maintenance, and Lubrication BEFORE EACH USE, inspect the general condition of the tool. Check for loose screws, cracked or broken parts, damaged electrical wiring, and any other condition that may affect its safe operation. Periodically, clean external surfaces of the tool with clean, moist cloth. For best operation, clean the Solar Panel on the top of the Cap, so that the battery will charge efficiently.
