Changing the settings” in “Using This Unit.” Handling the LCD screen ..Do not leave the LCD screen facing the sun as it may be damaged. Be careful when placing the unit by a window. ..If the unit is used in a cold place, horizontal lines or a residual image may appear on the LCD screen. This is not a malfunction. The LCD screen returns to normal when the unit warms up. ..If a still picture or a fixed picture such as a frame of a divided picture or time code is displayed for a long time, an image may remain superimposed on the LCD screen as a ghosting image. ..The LCD panel fitted to this unit is manufactured with high precision technology, but a very small proportion of pixels may be “stuck”, either always off (black), always on (red, green, or blue), or flashing. In addition, because of the physical characteristics of the liquid crystal display, such “stuck” pixels may appear spontaneously over a long period of use. These problems are not a malfunction. Cleaning Cleaning the LCD screen The LCD screen surface is specially treated to reduce the reflection of light. Incorrect maintenance may impair the performance of the LCD screen, so take care with respect to the following: ..Wipe the LCD screen gently with a soft cloth such as a cleaning cloth or glasses cloth. ..Stubborn stains may be removed with a soft cloth such as a cleaning cloth or glasses cloth slightly dampened with water. ..Never use a solvent such as alcohol, benzene or thinner, or acid, alkaline or abrasive detergent, or chemical cleaning cloth, as they will damage the LCD screen surface. Cleaning the surface of this unit ..Clean this unit surface with a soft cloth slightly moistened with water, then wipe the surface with a dry cloth. Do not use any of the following as they may damage the finish or the casing. ..Chemical products such as thinner, benzine, alcohol, disposable cloths, insect repellent, sunscreen or insecticide, etc. ..Do not touch this unit with any of the above on your hand. ..Do not leave this unit in contact with rubber or vinyl for a long time. About the water-proof performance of this unit This unit is designed to be water-proof. Damage caused by misuse, abuse, or improper maintenance is not covered by the limited warranty. ..Do not subject this unit to pressurized water, such as from a tap. ..Do not use in hot springs. ..Use this unit in the recommended operating water temperature range of 0 °C to 40 °C (32 °F to 104 °F).
