Safety Instructions lor the user ■ This appliance meets the radio interference suppression requirements of EC Directive 82/499 EC and 87/306 EG, EN 55014/DJN VDE 0875 Part 1, as well as the standards concerning the reverse effects of electrical appliances on the power mains EN 60 555 Parts 1-3/DiN VDE 0838 Parts 1-3, of June 1987, ■ This appliance must only be connected to the same mains voltage as shown on the rating plate. ■ The circuit of the socket used must be protected with a fuse of at least 13 A. ■ Never use the flex to puli the mains plug out of the plug socket. ■ Do not operate the appliance if: - the flex is damaged - the housing shows visible signs of damage. ■ Avoid running over the flex with the appliance, cleaning head or electric power cleaning head. ■ If nope per dustbag is insertedthecovercannot bedosed. PI ease do notuse force I ■ Make sure a paper dustbag, a MICROFILTER, and a motor protection filter are always inserted. ■ Thisvacuumcleanershouldonlybeusedfor normal dry household dustanddirt. It must not be used on people or animals. ' Keep children away from electrical appliances. The manufacturer cannot be held responsible for any damage caused by use or operation of the appliance contrary to these instructions. ■ Allow fitted carpets that have been shampooed to dry out completely. Never use your vacuum cleaner to vacuum liquids, otherwise it may be damaged. There is also a risk of an electrjc shock. ■ Never use your appliance to vacuum matches, glowing embers, or cigarette-ends. Avoid vacuuming hard, pointed objects, since they may damage the appliance or paper dustbag. ■ The applianoe must be stored in.such away that any weather conditions cannot affect the appliance. The appliance must not be subjected to humidity or heat sources. ■ If the flex is defective, the complete flex rewind unit should be replaced by your AEG Service Centre or an authorised AEG Service Agent ■ Repairs to electrical appliances should only be carried out by a trained electrician. Improper repairs may place the user at serious risk. ■ If your vabuum cleaner has a fault, please contact your electrical retailer or the AEG Service Centre direct ■ If the appliance is wrongly operated for a purpose other than that for which it is intended, no liability can be accepted for any possible damage. Important for users tn the UK The wires in the mains lead of this appliance are coloured in accordance with thefol-lowing coda: BLUE - neutral BROWN - live As the colours of the wires in the mains lead of this appliance may not correspond , with the ooloured markings identifying the terminals in your plug, PROCEED AS FOLLOWS: The wire which is coloured BROWN must be connected to the terminal which is marked L or coloured RED. The wire which is coloured BLUE must be connected to the terminal which is marked N or coloured BLACK! VERY IMPORTANT: Neither wire is to be connected to the earth terminal of a 3 pin plug. If a 13 amp plug is fitted, fit a 13 amp BS1362 fuse. If any other type of plug is used, protect with a 15 amp fuse at the distribution board.
