W, W MHz- 2 Important safeguards_ • The Instruction manual contains important operating and maintenance instructions. For your safety, it is necessary to refer the manual. Keep the manual for use in future. • Do not hit or drop the unit. • Do not expose the unit to vibration, direct sunlight, too high or low temperature or humidity. • If you are not going to use the unit within a long period of time, remove the batteries to avoid their leakage. • Do not use the unit near TV sets, computers, fluorescent lamps and other electric equipment; this may jam MW and SW reception. • Do not disassemble the unit yourselves. Refer servicing to qualified service personnel. Power supply_ Battery operation • Open the battery compartment cover. Insert 2 AA batteries. Please observe correct battery polarities or the unit will not work. Close the battery compartment cover. • When the batteries are exhausted, they should be replaced. • Do not use new and old batteries together. Note: When replacing batteries, the stored information will be lost. External power Use output DC 3V 300 mA regulating external direct current power. Check the positive and negative of the plug. Setting the clock_ • Set the power switch to OFF position. After installing batteries in the state of clock "12:00" appears on the LCD. • Keep TIME SET button pressed; press repeatedly HOUR button to set hours. Press MIN button to set minutes. • The clock will be displayed on the LCD when the power switch is set to OFF position. Note: The 12 hours system is used in the unit. The AM on the display screen indicates morning time, PM indicates afternoon time. Radio operation_ Power switch Set the power switch to ON position to turn on the radio. Set the power switch to OFF position to turn off the radio; the time will be displayed. Adjust volume In receiving state, rotate volume regulator to adjust the volume. 3 Band selection In receiving state, press FM button to choose FM band. The FM indicator will light up. Press AM button, move the BAND switch to select MW, SW1-7 station program. The AM indicator will light up. Station search After the band is selected, turn the tuning knob and watch the station frequency on the LCD. The tune indicator will light up when station signal is sufficiently strong. Earphones socket For private listening please insert the earphones into the earphone jack (the speaker inside the unit disconnects automatically), now you can listen to the radio by earphones. Supporting rack It is convenient for you to place the radio. Antenna_ • The MW antenna is magnetic bar within the system. Rotate the set for the best reception. • For FM reception, use the telescopic antenna. Pull out the antenna and change its length and angle for the best reception. • For SW reception, pull out the telescopic antenna and keep it vertical to get best reception. Alarm operation_ Setting the alarm time • In the state of clock press and hold AL.SET button, alarm symbol and time appear on the display screen. • Press HOUR button to adjust hour, then press MIN button to adjust minute and set the time to turn on the radio. • When the radio works, press AL.SET button, the alarm time displays and alarm symbol twinkles. Using alarm function • After the alarm time is set keep the radio in the state of clock. • Press AL.ON/OFF button once. The symbol of P'’ sl displays, the alarm function begins to work. • When the alarm time reaches the radio will be automatically turned on and receive FM band program. • After the alarm turns on the radio the Power switch does not function. Press AL.ON/OFF button to turn off the radio. • While using alarm function to turn on the radio, it will turn off automatically after 1 hour.
