Push again to close. sensor Pointer Electrical requirements Check the voltage on the rating plate of your clock radio corresponds with your house electricity supply which must be A.C. (alternating current). If the socket outlets in your home are not suitable for the plug supplied with this appliance the plug should be removed and the appropriate one fitted. IMPORTANT : THE PLUG IF SEVERED FROM THE MAINS LEAD MUST BE DESTROYED AS A PLUG WITH A BARED FLEXIBLE CORD IS HAZARDOUS IF ENGAGED INTO A LIVE SOCKET OUTLET. Should the fuse in the 13 amp plug require changing a 3 amp BS1362 fuse must be fitted. 3 Battery back-up facility (battery not included) Unit will work without a battery being fitted Your clock radio is equipped with a battery back-up facility. 1 Remove the battery compartment cover (underneath the unit) by pushing in the clip and lifting off. 2 Insert a battery size 9 volts PP3/6LR61 (Ensure battery is inserted correctly). 3 Replace the battery compartment cover. Should a power interruption occur the clock will continue to run, however, time keeping will not be accurate. The time will be displayed but the backlight will be extinguished to conserve battery life. The memory will retain details of the clock time and alarm settings. If the optional battery is not installed in case of the AC power failure the clock will start working at 12:00 when power is restored. You will need to reset the clock and alarm settings. Battery back-up is designed to operate for a short period only. If the unit is not to be used for a prolonged period, remove the battery to avoid battery leakage. In the interests of environmental safety : dispose of batteries safely. Auto dimmer sensor The unit has an automatic dimmer sensor. The clock display will dim automatically depending upon the darkness. Switching on and setting the clock time Before any alarm functions can be used, you must set the clock to the correct time. 1 Place the unit on a flat surface. Plug the mains plug into the socket and switch on at the wall socket. 2 The LCD clock display will light up. 4 3 Press the MODE button once, the current time will flash. You must adjust the time whilst the clock display is flashing. Repeatedly press the UP or DOWN buttons to change the time by 1 minute increments. Or hold down UP or DOWN buttons to change the clock rapidly. The minutes will carry over to the hours if, for example, the minutes change from 59 to 00 the hour will increment by 1. 4 The PM symbol will appear to indicate 12:00 midday has been reached. 5 Press the MODE button to confirm settings. The date will then flash. Either press mode another 4 times for normal operation or set the date (see below) or wait for 15 seconds. If no button is pressed for 15 seconds, the time is stored automatically and returns to the original display. Setting the calendar (year, date and month) 1 Press MODE twice. The calendar will flash. 2 Repeatedly press the UP or DOWN buttons to the change the date in 1-day increments. Hold UP or DOWN buttons to change the date by 10-day increments. If the UP or DOWN buttons are held down for more than 10 seconds, the date will change by 30 day increments. If no button is pressed for 15 seconds, the date is stored automatically and returns to the original display. Note: The date will carry over to the month if, for example, the date changes from the last day of the month to the 1st, the month will increment by 1. If the month changes from Dec to Jan, the left most 4 digits will increase to the next year. 3 Press the MODE button to store the calendar setting. The ALARM 1 time will then flash. Either press the MODE button another 3 times or set the ALARM 1 time (see section entitled ‘setting the alarms’) or wait for 15 seconds. 5 Setting the alarms 1 You can set two independent alarms to sound (by buzzer or by radio) each day of the week (Monday to Sunday) or from Monday to Friday or only weekend. Repeatedly press the MODE button until the alarm 1 time appears and flashes. 2 Press the UP or DOWN to set the alarm time. 3 Repeatedly press the SNOOZE button to the set the alarm to sound every day. (SUN MON TUE WED THU FRI SAT appears) or Monday through to Friday (MON TUE WED THU FRI appears) or only Sunday and Saturday (SUN and SAT) appears. 4 Press the DISPLAY button once to the set the alarm mode: buzzer (bell), press again to set to (radio) and press again to turn the alarm completely off. 5 Press MODE button to store the ALARM 1 time. Then the ALARM 2 time starts flashing, repeat steps 1-4 to set the ALARM 2 time. If no button is pressed for 15 seconds, the alarm time is stored automatically and returns to the original display.
