1 Slide out the battery cover 2 Place the batteries as indicated in the battery compartment and replace the battery cover. 3.3 Place the handset on the charging cradle Charge the handset for at least 24 hours before using it for the first time. When the battery is fully charged, the talk time of your CD140 is approximately 12 hours and the standby time is approximately 120 hours. 3 1 Place the handset on the charging cradle of the base station. Depending on your country, country selection screen may not appear. In that case, you do not need to select the country code to configure your phone. Tip If you chose the country in use wrongly or would like to change the country after the first configuration, you can press , , enter 4-digit PIN code (default PIN is 0000) and press in idle mode to its default settings. The handset will go back to country code selection screen and you can select the country code again. If country selection is not needed, the handset will go back to idle screen after reset. 3.5 Register your handset You will need to register your new handset or if you wish to register the handset to a different base unit.You can register up to four handsets on a single base station. Before entering the 4-digit PIN, press on the base unit for around three seconds when the base is in standby mode. 3 2 1 Press , Enter the default or existing 4-digit PIN code. (Default PIN is 0000) Press to start registration Note If the PIN code you entered is incorrect, a long beep is emitted and the phone returns to standby mode. Getting star ted 4 Using your phone 4.1 Make a call Enter the phone number (maximum 24 digits) Press to dial the number • The call is initiated. 4.1.1 Predialling 2 1 Press to take the line Enter the phone number • The call is initiated. 4.1.2 Direct dialling 2 1 4.1.3 Call from the call log This feature is available if you have subscribed the Caller Line Identification service (CLI) with your network provider. 2 1 Press to show the latest call log entry Press repeatedly to scroll through the list of unanswered calls to select your desired unanswered call 3 Press to dial the selected number Note The oldest entry will be deleted when the memory is full. 4.1.4 Call from the phonebook 1 Press and the first number in the phonebook displays The number stored in memory location 0 will be displayed if a number has been stored in this location before, otherwise, only memory location number 0will be displayed. 2 Press repeatedly until the desired phone number displays Tip For numbers stored in location numbers 0 to 9, you can enter the phonebook location number directly to access your desired phone number.For numbers stored in memory locations 10 to 19, press repeatedly to access. 3 Press to dial the selected number • The call is initiated. Using your phone 4.1.5 Call from the redial list 1 Press • The display shows the last number dialled. Note The handset stores the last five numbers dialled. Press 3 2 repeatedly to show the other last numbers dialled Press to dial the selected number 4.1.6 Call timer The call timer shows the duration of your current call when you hang up your phone. It is shown in minutes and seconds format (MM-SS). 4.2 Answer a call When the phone rings, press . • The call is initiated. 4.3 End a call Press during a call connection • The call ends. OR Put the handset on to the base station • The call ends. 4.4 Recall To use this feature, you have to subscribe the service with your local service provider. You can use the recall function to make or receive a second call. The operations mentioned in Section 4.4.1 and 4.4.2 may be varied by countries and local service providers.
