Use the following keys to compose a melody: : to enter C, the first note in the musical scale (doh). : to enter D (re). : to enter E (mi). : to enter F (fa). : to enter G (soh). : to enter A (la). : to enter B (ti). : to raise an octave higher or drop an octave lower. : Not available : to enter a note rest. Press until you find the desired length of rest. : to raise one semitone above the tone written. Example:If you want to enter a F sharp, press F (fa) then press : to delete notes. : to move a note to the next semitone higher position or lower position in the musical scale. For example, the note A moves A#, B, C, C# in the scale each time you press . : to adjust a length of a note. Enter a note, then press . Notice that the note length changes each time you press the key. You can listen to your melody by pressing the Listen soft key. If you are satisfied, press the Yes soft key, and enter the melody name. For information on how to enter a name, refer to page 33. N o t e: If you want to cancel your composing, pre s s . The display goes back to the pre v i o u s menu level, the screen displaying E m p t y. After you save the melody, the display asks you if you want to set the melody as the ring tone. If you select Yes, your phone plays the melody each time your phone rings. If you select No, the melody is just saved and the phone returns to the standby mode. To Delete a Selected Melody 1. Select the melody you want to delete. 2. Press and hold for a few seconds. All notes will be erased. 3. Press the Listen soft key. The display asks you if you are sure you want to erase the melody. Select the Yes soft key. 74 75 T o n e s T o n e s T o n e s T o n e s Ring Volume Menu 4-3 Allows you to adjust the ringing volume to one of seven levels. Use the volume keys on the left side of the phone or the or keys. The greater the number of bars, the greater the volume level. Alert Type Menu 4-4 Allows you to indicate how you are to be informed of any incoming calls. The following options are a v a i l a b l e . Light only: only the backlight is switched on; the phone neither rings nor vibrates. Melody: the phone rings using the ringing tone selected via menu option 4-1. Vibration: the phone vibrates but does not ring. Vibra+Melody: the phone both rings and vibrates. N o t e : P ressing and holding down toggles between M e l o d y and Vi b r a t i o n. Keypad Tone Menu 4-5 Allows you to select the tone that the keypad generates when you press a key. The following options are available. OFF: the keys do not make any sound. Tone: each key, when pressed, makes a different sound. Beep: each key, when pressed, makes the same sound. Message Tone Menu 4-6 Allows you to select how the phone informs you that a new message has been received. The following options are available. SMS Tone 1 ~ SMS Tone 10: the phone sounds the selected SMS tone. Single Beep: the phone beeps once. Light Only: the service light on the top of the phone flashes. 76 77 T o n e s T o n e s Error Tone Menu 4-7 Allows you to select how the phone informs you that you have made a mistake. The following options are available. OFF: the phone does not beep. ON: the phone beeps to indicate an invalid entry. Minute Minder Menu 4-8 Allows you to specify whether the phone must beep every minute during an outgoing call to keep you informed of the length of your call. The following options are available. OFF: the phone does not beep. ON: the phone beeps every minute. Connect Tone Menu 4-9 Allows you to specify whether the phone should beep when the phone connects to the network. The following options are available. OFF: the phone does not beep. ON: the phone beeps when your call is accepted. S e t t i n g s Many diff e rent features of your phone can be customised to suit your pre f e rences. All of these f e a t u res are accessed via the S e t t i n g s m e n u . Phone Settings Menu 5-1 Greeting Message Allows you to set a greeting message to be displayed briefly when the phone is switched on. The current message is displayed. To... Then press the...
