Hold - Touch to put a call on hold. Touch to open a numerical keypad for making a second call. This function also allows you to navigate menus with numbered options when you dial automated telephone services, such as call centres. Touch to add memo during a call. Touch to search your contacts during a call. TIP! To scroll through a list of options or your list of contacts, touch the last item visible and slide your finger up the screen. The list will move up so more items become visible. Calls Speed dialling You can assign a frequently-called contact to a speed dial number. 1 Select Phonebook and touch and select Speed dials. 2 Your voicemail is already set to speed dial 1. You cannot change this. Touch any other number to assign it to a speed dial contact. 3 Your Contact will open. Select the contact you want to assign to that number by touching the contact’s phone number once. To find a contact, tap the Search field box and enter the first few letters of the contact’s name. Making a second call 1 During your initial call, touch Dialpad and type the number you want to call. Alternatively touch Contacts and select the number you wish to dial. 2 Touch Voice call to connect the call. 3 Both calls will be displayed on the call screen. Your initial call will be locked and the caller put on hold. LG GD880 | User Guide 4 To change between the calls, touch or press the number of the held call. 5 To end one or both calls, press and select End. NOTE: You will be charged for each call you make. Viewing your call logs Touch Logs in the Main menu. TIP! Touch any single call log entry to view the date, time and duration of the call. Using call divert 1 Touch Call settings in the Main menu. 2 Touch Call divert. 3 Choose between Voice calls and Video calls. You can choose to divert all calls, calls when the line is busy, when there is no answer or when you cannot be reached. 4 Touch Activate. 5 Choose To voicemail centre or To other number to enter the new divert number. 6 Touch OK when you have finished entering the number. NOTE: Charges are incurred for diverting calls. Please contact your network provider for details. TIP! To turn off all call diverts, select Deactivate all from the Call divert menu. Using call barring 1 Touch Call settings in the Main menu. 2 Touch Call barring. 3 Choose Voice calls or Video calls. You can turn off all call barring by touching Deactivate all from the Call barring menu. 4 Choose any of the five options: All outgoing calls Outgoing international Outgoing international calls except home country All incoming Incoming when abroad. Touch Activate. 5 Enter the call barring password. Please check with your network operator about this service. Using Excuse message Before you reject an incoming call, you can use “Excuse messages” to send a message to explain why you do not receive an incoming call. Changing the common call setting 1 Touch Call settings in the Main menu. 2 Touch Common settings. From here you can adjust the settings for: Call reject - Slide the switch to the left to highlight the Reject list. You can touch the text box to choose all calls, calls from specific contacts or groups, calls from unregistered numbers (those not in your contacts) or calls with no caller ID. Touch to change the setting. Send my number - Choose whether your number will be displayed when you call someone. Show SNS events - Choose whether SNS events will be displayed or not. Auto redial - Slide the switch left for ON or right for OFF. Calls Minute minder - Slide the switch left to ON to hear a tone every minute during a call. BT answer mode - Select Hands- free to be able to answer a call using a Bluetooth headset or select Handset to answer a call by pressing a key on the handset. Save new number - Choose whether the Save new number function is ON or not. Slide the switch left for ON or right for OFF. Voice clarity - Choose whether the Voice clarity function is ON or not. Slide the switch left for ON or right for OFF. Changing the Video call settings 1 Touch Call settings. 2 Touch Video call settings. From here you can adjust the settings for: Use private image - Choose whether to use a private image for video calls. Private image - Choose an image for video calls. Mirror - Choose whether to use Mirror. Call durations View the duration of the last call, all calls as well as dialled and received calls. Data volume View the amount of data used in kilobytes for received data, sent data and all data. LG GD880 | User Guide Contacts Searching for a contact There are two ways to search for a contact: 1 Touch from the home screen and then touch Phonebook or touch from the home screen. 2 You see a list of contacts. Typing the first letter of a contact’s name in the Name field will jump the menu to that alphabetical area of the list. TIP! The alphabetical keypad is displayed once you tap the Name fi eld.
