Resumen del manual

Always be sure that the nailer is dry before using it again. Do not allow dust, chips, sand, etc. into the air connectors or into the body of the nailer; this may result in leaks and damage to the nailer and the air couplings. Figure 4. Lubricating nailer via air inlet. G6045/G6046/G6047 18 Gauge Brad Nailer -7 Clearing Jammed Nails The most frequent situation with any type of nailer is a nail jam. A jammed nail must be cleared before using the nailer again. The two places where a nail can get jammed are the magazine and the discharge area. Always disconnect air from nailer whenever clearing a jammed nail! To clear a jammed nail from the magazine: 1. Disconnect the nailer from the air supply! 2. Open the magazine cover and pull the magazine all the way back. 3. Locate and remove the jammed brad nail with a pair of needle nose pliers. Close the magazine cover so it latches. To clear a jammed nail from the discharge area with the Model G6045/G6047: 1. Disconnect the nailer from the air supply! 2. Remove all of the brad nails from the magazine. 3. Flip up the quick release latch that is located on top of the nailer nose assembly as shown in Figure 5. 4. Remove the driver guide cover. 5. The jammed nail should now be visible; remove it from the discharge area with needle nose pliers. -8 6. Replace the driver guide cover and snap the quick release latch back into operating position. Remove all brad nails from the magazine. 2. Loosen the 2 cap screws that secure the driver guide cover to the driver guide on the nose assembly. Slide the driver guide cover toward the nose and pull it over the 2 cap screws. See Figure 6 to identify these parts. 3. The jammed nail should now be visible; remove it with needle nose pliers. 4. Install the guide cover and check the safety yoke mechanism for proper operation (following the same instructions as mentioned in the Safety section). Cap Screws Guide Cover Figure 6. G6045/G6046/G6047 18 Gauge Brad Nailer Replacing Pistons/O-Rings If you use your nailer day in and day out, Grizzly offers repair pistons as cheap insurance against wasted down time and lost profits in the event that a piston or piston shaft becomes worn out. To replace a piston: Always disconnect air from nailer whenever servicing! During maintenance, a nailer connected to air may fire accidentally, causing serious personal injury! 1. Disconnect the nailer from the air supply! 2. Remove all nails from the magazine cartridge. 3. Remove the 4 cap screws on the back of the nailer, near the exhaust port. 4. Remove the rear cap as shown in Figure 7. 5. The top of the piston should now be visible inside the cylinder, which is housed in the back of the nailer. Figure 7. Removing rear cap. 6. Remove the guide cover from the nose assembly by loosening the 2 cap screws. 7. Watch the nose assembly and push the top of the piston with your finger. You will see the piston shaft slide along the guide. 8. Push the piston shaft back inside the nailer until you can grip the piston head and remove it from the cylinder. 9. Place a new O-ring on the new piston and apply a thin film of the proper lubricating oil on the O-ring. 10. Insert the new piston in the cylinder. Make sure that the grooves on the piston shaft line up with those on the guide. The new piston should easily slide into the cylinder. Do not force the piston into the cylinder! If the piston is not easily inserted, double- check the alignment of the piston shaft with the grooves on the guide. 11. After the piston is inserted correctly, replace the guide cover and tighten the 2 cap screws. Replace the rear cap assembly and tighten the 4 cap screws. 12. For more assistance, or to install a complete O-ring set, refer to the appropriate breakdown diagram in the back of this manual.
