Fav. Channel Fav. Channel : ANT can be set as Favorite channels. To View Your Favorite Channels: Press the Fav.CH button repeatedly to jump from one favorite channel to another. Add/Erase Channel : ANT 11 Select : Added Press the Menu button to exit the menu. 3.12 CHAPTER THREE: TV OPERATION OPERATION Labeling the Channels Use this feature to assign an easy-to-remember label to any channel (i.e., “CBS”, “ESPN”, “PBS2”, CNN1”, etc.) A label consists of four fields, where each field is a letter, a number, “*”, or a blank. When the DISPLAY button is pressed, the channel label will appear next to the channel number. 1 Press CH or CH to tune to the channel that will be labeled. 2 Ў Note: You cannot select Channel Antenna : A ANT/CATV : ANT Auto Program Fav. Channel Fine Tune : 00 Add/Erase Labeling : --- “Labeling” in the A/V mode. Press the Menu button. Press the CH button to select “Channel”, then press the VOL + button. 3 Press the CH button to select “Labeling”. Press the VOL + button to begin labeling. The left-most field will be highlighted. Channel CHAPTER THREE: TV OPERATION 3.13 OPERATION Picture Control You can use the on-screen menus to change the contrast, brightness, tint, color, and sharpness according to personal preference. (Alternatively, you can use one of the “automatic” settings. See next page.) Customizing the Picture 1 Press the Menu button. The “Picture” icon will be highlighted, then press the VOL + or VOL -button repeatedly, until the word “Custom” is selected. Mode : Custom Adjust Size : Wide Digital NR : Off Color tone : Normal Demonstration Picture 2 Press the CH button to select “Adjust”, then press the VOL + button. (The words Contrast, Brightness, Sharpness, Color, and Tint will appear on the screen.) Mode : Custom Adjust Size : Wide Digital NR : Off Color tone : Normal Demonstration Picture 3 Adjust Press the VOL + button. Contrast : 80 (The words Contrast, Brightness : 50 Sharpness : 50 Color : 45 Brightness, Sharpness, Color, and Tint will appear Tint : G 50 R: 50 on the screen.) Press the CH or CH button to select a particular item. After adjusting an item, the gauge will automatically 4 disappear(after about 4 seconds). Press the VOL + or VOL button to increase or decrease the value of a particular item. Brightness 50 Ў 3.14 CHAPTER THREE: TV OPERATION OPERATION Using Automatic Picture Settings Your TV has three automatic picture settings (“Dynamic”, “Standard” and “Movie”) that are preset at the factory. You can activate either Dynamic, Standard or Movie by pressing P.Mode (or by making a selection from the menu). Or, you can select “Custom” which automatically recalls your personalized picture settings. 1 Press the Menu button. Picture icon will be highlighted. Mode : Custom Adjust Size : Wide Digital NR : Off Color tone : Normal Demonstration Picture 2 Press the VOL + or VOL button to select the “Custom”, “Dynamic”, “Standard” or “Movie” picture setting. Mode : Dynamic Size : Wide Digital NR : Off Demonstration Picture Alternate method: Simply press the P.Mode button on the remote control to select one of the standard picture settings. Standard • Choose Standard for the standard factory settings. • Choose Dynamic for viewing the TV during the day or when there is bright light in the room. • Choose Movie when viewing the Movie. • Choose Custom if you want to adjust the settings according to personal preference (see “Customizing the Picture, page 3.14).
