For a complete list of the remote control’s functions, see the “Remote Control functional key chart” on pages 18–19. POWER turns the TV on and off. Note: If the Quick Restart feature is in OFF mode, it can take up to several seconds for the picture to appear. See page 28 for details. SLEEP programs the TV to turn off at a specific time (page 52) LIGHT The first press of the LIGHT button lights the keypad and turns on the Illumination mode. With the Illumination mode on, pressing any other key lights the keypad for 5 seconds (10 seconds if you’re in programming mode). Using theremote control Subsequent presses of the LIGHT button toggle between turning the Illumination mode on and off. Channel Numbers (0-9, 100) allow direct access to channels (page 28) MODE cycles through the six device modes: TV, CABLE/SAT, VCR, DVD, AUDIO1, and AUDIO2. The mode indicator light will remain lit for a few seconds (page 20). The Red LED indicator on the TV will be illuminated. Press POWER again to turn off the TV. Learning about the menu system After you have installed the batteries and programmed the remote control, you will need to set some preferences on the TV by using the menu system. You can access the menu system by using the control touchpad on the TV front or the remote control. 1. Press MENU to display the menu system. 2. Press x or • to select a menu. 3. Press y or z to select an item, then press ENTER. 4. Press y or z to select or adjust a setting. 5. Press ENTER to activate the settings or display the next menu. 6. To close the menu, press EXIT.
