To help identify the programmes, we suggest that you have to hand a TV guide or daily newspaper. Ensure that the aerial lead is connected to the TV set. Check that any equipment connected only via the aerial (video recorder or satellite equipment) is operating. Switch off any equipment connected via the SCART socket. Searching for stations depends on the broadcasting standard selected in the AUTO INSTALL menu. EURO (Western Europe, Tunisia, Morocco) Searches for PAL/SECAM BG channels For details concerning DKK’ channels, see Manual Channel Setting. DK (Eastern Europe, Middle East, Africa, French Territories) Searches for SECAM DKK’ then PAL/SECAM BG channels Installation Press the ON/OFF button, the indicator lamp lights up. If the television set remains on stand–by, press one of the buttons on the remote control numerical keypad. When the television set is turned on for the first time, the Installation menu appears automatically. If this is not the case, you can call it up by: GB AUTO INSTALL. EURO DKK’ – pressing the button on the remote control three times. Select the required standard using the buttons. Press to confirm. A new menu appears. Automatic search begins. The cursor moves from left to right on the VL line, then on the VH line and then on the U line. The channels found are stored in memory in order starting from programme PR 01. You can stop the automatic search at any time by pressing the button. The search stops automatically at the end of the U band or when 99 channels have been found. The Programme Organizer menu then appears automatically. The channel stored on programme PR 01 is selected (see next page). PR01 AUTO INSTALL. VL EURO 5 Changing a Programme Number Select the channel number to be changed using the button. GB Using the numerical keypad on the remote control, enter the new programme number. You can also use the buttons on the remote control. PR01 AUTO INSTALL. VL EURO Press the button to confirm the change. The programmes stored under the old and new numbers are then swapped. Repeat this operation to change other programme numbers. Erasing a Programme Select the programme to be erased using the button. Enter 0 or 00 on the numerical keypad of the remote control. Press to confirm. The programme is erased. Check that all the programmes are in the required order using the button, then press to leave the menu. 6 Manual Channel Setting Press the button twice to call up the channel setting menu. 1. Selecting the Broadcasting Standard Select the broadcasting standard using the buttons. GB VL PR EURO DKK’ EURO Western Europe, Tunisia, Morocco (B,G standards) DK Eastern Europe, Middle East, Africa, French Territories (D,K,K ’ standards) 2. Channel Search Select the 2nd line of the menu using the button. Start the search by pressing: – the button for a forward search, – the button for a backward search. Thesearchful llycoverstheVL,VHandUbandsstarting fromthechannelonthescreen.Thecursormovesand assoonasachannelisfound,thepictureappearson thescreen. VL PR EURO Waitforthemenutogotothebottomofthescreenforoptimumreception. Ifthepicturecorrespondstothechannelrequired,gotothe4thline(PR),otherwise continuethesearch. If you wish to stop the automatic search, press the button. 3. Programme Number and Storing in Memory Select the 4th line of the menu using the button. Iffinetuningisnecessary,see FineTuning Enter a programme number using the numerical buttons of the remote control. Youcanalsousethe buttons. VL PR EURO Store the programme number you have allocated to the channel by pressing the button. The2ndlineofthemenuisthenselectedagain. Restartthesearchusing the buttons. To search for channels in another broadcasting standard, repeat the above operations from SELECTING THE BROADCASTING STANDARD. 7 . 4. Fine Tuning Onlynecessaryintheeventofinterference If fine tuning is necessary, select the 3rd line of the menu using the button. GB If necessary, adjust the picture using the buttons. VL PR EURO Select the 4th line (PR)using the button to allocate a programme number to the channel and store it in memory (see Programme Number and Storing in Memory) Ifa channel has required fine tuning, itwil ll be stored in memory with the AFC(Automatic FrequencyControl)deactivated. Press the button to leave the menu. 8 Picture Adjustments Press the button to call up the Picture Menu. GB = == == BRIGHTNESS COLOUR CONTRAST SHARPNESS TINT Select the function to be adjusted using the buttons. The tint function is only active in NTSC mode. You can store the adjustments you have just made and call them up at a later stage. Caution: these personal adjustments will replace and delete the standard settings made at the factory. With the Picture Menu displayed, press the red button. Press the button to leave the menu. Sleep Timer Press the green button to call up the Stand–by Menu.
