5mm x 16 mm Self-Tappingscrew (6pcs) #128 - Speed Nut Clip (6pcs) 10 ET288/ET388 n STEP 1 Remove all the parts from the carton and lay the main base frame on a flat level surface. n STEP 2 Connect the cable from the base frame (49) to the cable in the right side upright tube (50) and slide the tube into the base frame tube. Be careful not to pinch the wire harness. Slide the left upright tube into the base frame tube. 49 50 n STEP 3 Install, and just hand tighten for now, all eight 5/16.. x 1/2.. socket head bolts (130). Now tighten all eight bolts as tight as possible. 11 ET288/ET388 n STEP 4 This step is easier if you have someone else helping to hold the console while you connect the wires. Connect the handlebar incline switch wire (55) on the left side to the mating connector (38) of the console. Connect the handlebar speed switch wire (54) on the right side to the mating connector (37) of the console and then connect the computer cable (50) to the mating connector (48) of the console. l STEP 5 Secure the console with four 5/16.. x 1/2.. socket head bolts (130). Do not pinch the wires when sliding the console onto the upright tubes. Operation of the ET288 & ET388 Treadmill Operation of the ET288 & ET388 Treadmill 12 ET288/ET388 13 ET288/ET388 GETTING STARTED: Power the treadmill on by plugging it into a grounded wall outlet, then turn on the power switch located at the front of the treadmill below the motor hood. Ensure that the safety key is installed, as the treadmill will not operate without it. When the power is initially turned on, the display will light up and then show an Odometer reading in the Distance window. The odometer reading shows how many virtual miles the treadmill gone. The console will now be in idle mode, which is the starting point for operation. QUICK START: After the treadmill is powered on and the safety key is in place simply press the START key. The treadmill will start at the minimum speed of 0.5 mph, the time will count up from zero and all data will begin to accrue. You can adjust the speed manually by pressing the Fast and Slow buttons and you can adjust the Incline with the Up and Down buttons. WINDOW DISPLAYS: SPEED Shows your current walking/running speed in Miles Per Hour. TIME: Accumulates total workout time from 00:00 to 99:59. DISTANCE: Accumulates total workout distance from 0.00 to 99.99 miles (km). CALORIES: Accumulates the user..s calorie consumption during exercise. PULSE/INCLINE: Shows your heart rate in beats per minute when the hand pulse sensors are held. If no heart rate is detected the window displays the running deck incline in percent grade. BUTTON FUNCTIONS: START/STOP: Press the START/STOP button to begin or end a program. FAST: Press the ..FAST.. button to increase your speed. SLOW: Press the ..SLOW.. button to decrease your speed. UP: Hold down to increase incline level DOWN: Hold down to decrease incline level ENTER: Press the ..ENTER.. button to set the Timer. During a program press the Enter key to switch the main display to show different data. SAFETY KEY: Put safety key in position to enable the computer. When the safety key is pulled away from its position, the computer will automatically shut down the motor. PROGRAMS: MANUAL: • When the treadmill is powered on the main display will show PO • You can press start or if you want to set the clock to count down press the Enter key. The Time window will be blinking, use the Fast/Slow buttons to adjust the Time. • Press the Start key to begin the program. • Press the Enter key to switch the main data being displayed in the big window. PROGRAMS 1~5: • When the treadmill is powered on, press the Fast/Slow keys to select P1 to P5. • You can press start or if you want to set the clock to count down press the Enter key. The Time window will be blinking, use the Fast/Slow buttons to adjust the Time. • Press the Start key to begin the program. • Press the Enter key to switch the main data being displayed in the big window. SPEED PROFILES FOR PROGRAMS 1~5 14 ET288/ET388 15 ET288/ET388 Belt and Bed - Your treadmill uses a very high-efficient low-friction bed. Performance is maximized when the bed is kept as clean as possible. Use a soft, damp cloth or paper towel to wipe the edge of the belt and the area between the belt edge and frame. Also reach as far as practical directly under the belt edge. This should be done once a month to extend belt and bed life. Use water only - no cleaners or abrasives. A mild soap and water solution along with a nylon scrub brush will clean the top of the textured belt. Allow the belt to dry before using. Belt Dust - This occurs during normal break-in or until the belt stabilizes. Wiping excess off with a damp cloth will minimize buildup. General Cleaning - Dirt, dust, and pet hair can block air inlets and accumulate on the running belt. On a monthly basis: vacuum underneath your treadmill to prevent buildup.
