Pull the ends of the TENSION CABLE(22) and SENSOR WIRE(26) out of the MAIN FRAME(1). Refer to the inset drawing. Connect the CABLE END of the TENSION KNOB(23) into the SPRING HOOK on the end of the TENSION CABLE(22). Pull on the Cable of the TENSION KNOB(23) firmly so that enough cable is available to insert the cable through the slot in the BRACKET. Then insert the METAL FITTING on the cable of the TENSION KNOB(23) into the hole at the end of the slot in the BRACKET. Adjust the TENSION KNOB(23) and verify that the SPRING HOOK moves when the TENSION KNOB(23) is adjusted. STEP 6 Connect the CONNECTION WIRE(25) to the SENSOR WIRE(26). Insert the UPRIGHT(4) onto the MAIN FRAME(1) and secure with BUTTON HEAD BOLTS(M8x1.25x15mm)(41), LOCK WASHERS(M8)(56), and ARC WASHERS(M8)(55). 9 CABLE END SPRING HOOK BRACKET METAL FITTING STEP 7 Run the CONNECTION WIRE(25) through the hole in the plate on the HANDLEBAR(5). Attach the HANDLEBAR(5) to the UPRIGHT(4) with BUTTON HEAD BOLT(M8x1.25x30mm)(42) and ROUND HEAD SCREWS(M6x1x8mm)(49). STEP 8 Install two AA batteries into the METER(24), two batteries included. See page 13 for detailed battery installation instructions. Plug the CONNECTION WIRE(25) to the METER(24), and push the excess wires back into the UPRIGHT(4). Place the METER(24) onto the plate on the HANDLEBAR(5) and secure with ROUND HEAD SCREWS(M5x0.8x15mm)(48). NOTE: Be careful not to damage the wires when attaching the METER(24). ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS 10 SET UP INSTRUCTIONS 11 Place the Magnetic Upright 1300 Bike in the area where it will be used. It is recommended that the Magnetic Upright 1300 Bike be placed on an equipment mat. The Magnetic Upright 1300 Bike is approximately 35 inches long x 22 5/8 inches wide x 48 1/2 inches tall. An area 4 feet wide x 5 feet long is required for safe operation of the Magnetic Upright 1300 Bike. Make sure that adequate space is available for access to and passage around the Magnetic Upright 1300 Bike. Adjust the LEVELING CAPS(38) on the REAR STABILIZER(3) so the Bike sits on the floor without rocking. The Magnetic Upright 1300 Bike must be lifted to be moved. Two people are required to grasp the HANDLEBAR(5) and the REAR STABILIZER(4), lift and move. LEVELING: MOVING: FUNCTION INSPECTION: Visually inspect the Magnetic Upright 1300 Bike to verify that assembly is as shown in the above illustration. Check the function of the Magnetic Upright 1300 Bike by turning the crank slowly through one complete revolution to verify that the drive train functions properly. Adjust the TENSION KNOB(23) and verify that it functions properly. Locate and read the WARNING LABEL(59) on the Magnetic Upright 1300 Bike. Make sure that all users read the WARNING LABEL(59). CAUTION: OPERATIONAL INSTRUCTIONS 12 The ADJUSTMENT KNOB(35) should be screwed in tight to make the SEAT POST(6) fit securely in the MAIN FRAME(1). NOTE: SEAT HEIGHT ADJUSTMENT Proper seat height is important for efficient exercise. To determine proper seat height, sit on the BIKE and center the ball of your foot on the pedal in the down position. Your leg should be slightly bent and relaxed as shown. If your leg is too straight or if your foot cannot touch the pedal when extended at the downstroke, you will need to lower the seat. If your leg is bent too much, you will need to raise the seat. Remove the ADJUSTMENT KNOB(35), lower or raise the SEAT(36) to the desired height, and secure with the ADJUSTMENT KNOB(35). LOAD ADJUSTMENT To increase the load, turn the TENSION KNOB(23) clockwise. To decrease the load, turn the TENSION KNOB(23) counterclockwise. NOTE: The load will increase as you pedal faster. USING THE METER Open the Battery Door on the back of the meter. The meter operates with two AA batteries, two batteries included. Refer to the illustration to install or replace the batteries. 1. 2. Do not mix a new battery with an old battery. Use the same type of battery. Do not mix an alkaline battery with another type of battery. Rechargeable batteries are not recommended. 1. 2. 3. NOTE: CALORIES: 13 HOW TO INSTALL AND REPLACE BATTERIES: TIME: Automatically scans each function of TIME, SPEED, DISTANCE, and CALORIES in sequence with change every four seconds. Press and release the button until "SCAN" appears on the display. Displays the time from one second up to 99:59 minutes. Displays the current speed from zero to 999.9 miles per hour. Displays the distance from zero to 99.99 miles. Displays the calorie consumption from zero to 999.9 Kcal. The calorie readout is an estimate for an average user. It should be used only as a comparison between workouts on this unit. SPEED: FUNCTIONS: SCAN: DISTANCE: Pedal movement or push the button. Automatic shut off after four minutes of inactivity. POWER OFF : POWER ON : MODE/RESET BUTTON: Press to select display functions, include SCAN, TIME, SPEED, DISTANCE, and CALORIES. Press and hold for three seconds to reset all functions to zero.
