If an extension cord is required, special care and caution is necessary. Also the cord must be: (1) marked with an electrical rating of 125V, and at least 13A., 1625 W., and (2) the cord must be arranged so that it will not drape over the countertop or tabletop where it can be pulled on by children or tripped over accidentally. ELECTRIC POWER: If electric circuit is overloaded with other appliances, your waffle baker may not operate properly. The waffle baker should be operated on a separate electric circuit from other operating appliances. USING YOUR WAFFLE BAKER 1. Before use, wipe cooking surface with a damp cloth and dry. Lightly coat grids with cooking oil and close lid. Condition the grids before each use and if waffles begin to stick. 2. Plug into 120 V ~ 50-60 Hz outlet.This unit may emit an odor and/or smoke during the first few uses from oils used in manufacturing.This 2 is normal for newly manufactured appliances. is normal for newly manufactured appliances. After approximately 5 minutes, the indicator light will go off. Raise lid and pour in 1/3 cup batter; close lid. Any waffle recipe or mix may be baked in waffle baker. When the light goes off, gently lift lid to check color. If lid shows resistance to lifting, close top and watch for steaming to stop before checking again. 5. WAFFLES flour 1 3/4 cups egg yolks, beaten 3 baking powder 2 tsp vegetable oil 1/3 cup sugar 1 TBL milk 1 1/2 cups salt 1/2 tsp egg whites, stiffly beaten 3 Sift together dry ingredients in mixing bowl. Combine egg yolks, oil and milk and stir into dry ingredients. Carefully fold in egg whites, do not over mix. Pour approximately 1/3 cup batter onto the preheated grid. Close and bake. Yields approximately 10 waffles. CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS CAUTION:Unplug from electrical outlet before cleaning.Never immerse appliance in water. Allow waffle baker to cool before cleaning. 1. After each use, wipe cooking surface with a damp cloth and dry. To remove stubborn stains use a damp plastic pad or mesh puff and mild soap. Rinse with a damp cloth and dry. Do not use steel wool or coarse scouring pads. 2. The exterior finish should be cleaned with a non-abrasive cleaner and a soft, damp cloth.
