Keep children below the age of 8 years old at a safe distance from the appliance and power cable. Risk of fire! ¦ Hot oil and fat can ignite very quickly. Never leave hot fat or oil unattended. Never use water to put out burning oil or fat. Switch off the hotplate. Extinguish flames carefully using a lid, fire blanket or something similar. ¦ The hotplates become very hot. Never place combustible items on the hob. Never place objects on the hob. Risk of burns! The hotplates and surrounding area (particularly the hob surround, if fitted) become very hot. Never touch the hot surfaces. Keep children at a safe distance. Risk of electric shock! ¦ Incorrect repairs are dangerous. Repairs may only be carried out by one of our trained after- sales engineers. If the appliance is faulty, unplug the mains plug or switch off the fuse in the fuse box. Contact the after- sales service. ¦ Penetrating moisture may cause an electric shock. Do not use any high- pressure cleaners or steam cleaners. ¦ A defective appliance may cause electric shock. Never switch on a defective appliance. Unplug the appliance from the mains or switch off the circuit breaker in the fuse box. Contact the after- sales service. ¦ Cracks or fractures in the glass ceramic may cause electric shocks. Switch off the circuit breaker in the fuse box. Contact the after- sales service. Dual-circuit cooking zones With glass ceramic hobs, you can switch on heating surfaces for large cookware. 1. Turn the control knob clockwise past setting 9 to setting o. 2. After heating up, turn it down to the desired setting as with normal hotplates. 3. To switch off the dual- circuit cooking zone, turn the control knob back to setting U. Note: With autofocus hotplates, the dual- circuit cooking zone switches on automatically. The setting o on the control knob has no function. Cleaning and care : Risk of short circuit! Do not use high-pressure cleaners or steam jet cleaners to clean your appliance. Caution! Surface damage due to incorrect cleaning: Do not use any ¦ harsh or abrasive cleaning agents ¦ cleaning agents that contain alcohol ¦ abrasive cleaning aids such as steel wool or scourers. Observe the specifications in the tables. Caution! Do not use stainless steel cleaners that can damage the lettering. Wipe the built- in control box with a soft, damp cloth. If it is very dirty, add a few drops of cleaning agent to the water used for cleaning. Wipe with a dry cloth afterwards. Your hob comes with its own instructions for use. They contain information on care and cleaning. Faults and repairs It is not always necessary to call the after-sales service. Sometimes, you can find a remedy yourself.
