Tips for saving energy ¦ Always use a correctly fitting lid for the pan.Cooking without the lid requires four times as much energy. Using cookware with unlevel bases increases energy consumption. ¦ The diameter of the base of your pot or pan should match the size of the hotplate. This is usually bigger than the diameter of the base of the pan. ¦ Use a small pan for small quantities of food.
