As two hotplates The flexible zone can be used as two independent hotplates. How to activate The hob must be switched on. 1. Select the flexible zone then press the A symbol. The indicator b lights up between the A and A symbols. 2. Select one of the hotplates in the flexible zone. The indicator ‹.‹ lights up. 3. Select the power level in the programming zone. How to deactivate Select the hotplate and press the 0 symbol. The hotplate switches off. Note: When a hob is switched off and switched on again, the flexible zone returns to being one single hotplate. Childproof lock The hob can be protected against being accidentally turned on, to ensure that children do not switch on the hotplates. Turning on and off the childproof lock. The hob should be switched off. To turn on: press and hold the >D symbol for approx. 4 seconds. The D symbol lights up for 4 seconds. The hob is locked. To turn off: press and hold the >D symbol for approx. 4 seconds. The lock is now deactivated. Childproof lock With this function, the childproof lock automatically activates when a hob is switched off. Activating and deactivating All of the relevant information on the automatic childproof lock connection can be found in the Basic settings chapter. Powerboost function The Powerboost function can be used to heat large amounts of water more quickly than the power level S. Usage restrictions This function can always be activated for a hotplate, provided the other hotplate in the same group is not in use (see illustration). Otherwise, › and S flash in the heat setting display; the S heat setting is then set automatically. In group 2, the powerboost function can be activated at any time (see illustration). .................................... Note: The greatest amount of power supplied in the flexible zone is obtained by placing a pan in the centre of the zone, as indicated in the Flexible zone chapter. How to activate 1. Select a hotplate. 2. Press the boost G symbol. The › indicator lights up. The Powerboost function will have been activated. How to deactivate 1. Select a hotplate. 2. Press the boost G symbol. The › indicator will no longer be displayed and the hotplate will return to the power level S. The Powerboost function will have been deactivated. Note: In certain circumstances, the Powerboost function may turn off automatically in order to protect the electronic components inside the hob. Time programming function This function may be used in two different ways: 3. Within the next 10 seconds, select the required cooking time on the settings range. ¦ to automatically switch off a hotplate. ¦ as a timer. A hotplate should switch off automatically. Enter a cooking time for your dish. The hotplate switches off automatically after the time that is set has elapsed. Setting procedure 1. Select the hotplate and set the required heat setting. 2. Changing or cancelling the time Select the hotplate and press the 0 symbol twice. The __ and r displays appear Change the cooking time using symbols 1 to 9 or press 0 to cancel the time. Once the time has elapsed The hotplate switches off once this time has elapsed. A beep is heard and ‹.‹ appears in the hotplate and the time programming function display shows ‹‹ for 10 seconds. When the 0 symbol is pressed, the displays turn off and the beep goes off. Notes ¦ If a cooking time has been programmed, the display always shows the time of this function. To check the cooking time remaining in a hotplate, select a hotplate and press the 0 symbol twice. ¦ If a time has been programmed for several hotplates, the time of the selected hotplate is always shown. ¦ Any cooking time can be programmed for up to 99 minutes. The timer The timer can be set for periods of up to 99 minutes. It is independent of the other settings. This function does not automatically switch off a hotplate. How to program 1.
