This optional accessory makes it possible to use large over-sized canners or stockpots on the cooktop. Normally canners should not be allowed to extend over the edge of the grate. Heat build-up under the canner could damage surrounding areas. The elevated design of the Canning grate eliminates such problems. Installing and Using The "Big Pot/Canning" Grate Note: The large front burner has been designed to supply the highest BTU rate. When canning, use this burner onJy. 1. Before installing the canning grate, be certain ALL control knobs are in the "OFF" position and the cooktop grate is cool. 2. Remove the burner grate from the large front burner of the cooktop. 3 Place the canning grate in its place. The large flat portion should extend forward over the countertop. Add the surface burner grate on top of the canning grate. 4. Use the surface control knob for the large front burner. 5. The grate can be removed for storage once it has cooled. Cat. NO. Be careful and follow equipment instructions to avoid burns from steam or hot canners. • If your area has low gas pressure, canning may take longer than indicated by the directions. • Refer to the Use and Care Manual for your Jenn-Air appliance for additional information.
