Label which cable is the 120-volt supply wire and which is the exterior blower cable. Now Start... Cover countertop or cooking surface with a thick, protective covering to prevent damaging them. 2-3/4" 5-15/16" (7.0 cm) (15.1 cm) wall A B 17-5/16" 11" (27.9 cm) 5/16" (7.9 mm) (40.0 cm) dia. dia. 4-holes hood size A B 36" (91.4 cm) 31-7/16" (79.9 cm) 15-23/32" (39.9 cm) 48" (121.9 cm) 43-7/16" (110.3 cm) 21-23/32" (55.2 cm) 1. Mark the locations of four 5/16" (7.9 mm) dia. holes and an 11" (27.9 cm) dia. hole as shown. Use a compass or template and mark the outline of the 11" (27.9 cm) hole. 2. Drill the four holes and, using a saber saw or keyhole saw, cut the 11" (27.9 cm) dia. hole. 2" hood 14-3/16" (5.1 cm) support knockout location (36.0 cm) on wall 3. Drill a 1-1/4" (3.0 cm) dia. hole at location shown for electrical wiring. 4. Remove the electrical knockout from the hood liner. 5. Remove the filters. Use two hands to remove filter. Push tab back to release the locking pin, pull down and forward. Set filter aside. Repeat with other filter(s). 6. Remove the wiring box cover located behind the right hand filter. 7. Install U.L.- or C.S.A.- listed strain relief in hood liner so that screws can be tightened. Electrical connection WARNING Electrical Shock Hazard Disconnect power before servicing. Connect ground wire to green ground screw in terminal box. Failure to do so can result in death or electrical shock. 8. Disconnect power. 9. If not previously done, run the 120-volt supply wiring to the hood liner according to electrical codes and ordinances. 10. Remove the four mounting screws from the parts bag. It is recommended they be placed by the holes in the hood liner support for quick access. WARNING Excessive Weight Hazard Use two or more people to move and install hood liner. Failure to do so can result in back or other injury. 11. While feeding the wiring through the strain relief, lift the hood liner into place. Insert the screws through the support and thread into the hood liner holes. Tighten screws securely. 12. Make the wiring box electrical connections. green green black white ground ground wire wire white screw wires (from (from wires blower) twist-on connector brown wire black (from hood wires liner) blue wire (from hood liner) exterior blower power blower) hood liner wiring supply wiring cable Connect both green ground wires (from exterior blower motor and from 120-volt supply wiring) under the unused green ground screw. 120-volt supply wiring: • Connect 120-volt black supply wire to black hood liner wire with a twist-on connector. • Connect 120-volt supply white wire with to white hood liner wire with a twist-on connector. Exterior blower motor wiring: • Connect the black blower motor wire to the blue hood liner wire with a twist-on connector. • Connect white blower motor wire to brown hood liner wire with a twist-on connector. 13. Tighten strain relief screws. 14. Replace wiring box cover. Tighten screw securely. 15. Connect exterior blower vent system to hood liner collar. Seal joint with duct tape to make airtight. 16. Reconnect power. blower speed switch blower motor light switch switch 17. Check operation of hood liner and exterior blower. Lights: • Move the light switch to “1” position. Lights should go on. Move switch back to “0” position. Lights should go off. Exterior blower motor and speed control: • Move motor switch to “1” position. Exterior blower motor should turn on. • Move speed control switch to vary the blower speed from low (at the left) to high (at the right). • Move speed control switch back to low (at the left). Move the motor switch back to “0”and the blower motor should turn off. 18. Reinstall filters. Place back edge of filter into channel at rear of hood liner. Push filter up while pushing tab back. When filter is in place, release tab. Locking pin will hold filter in place. Repeat with other filter(s). 19. Install front enclosure. To get the most efficient use from your new hood liner, read the “Use and Care Information” section.
