Verify that 68 [AV/Headphones] is set to [H AV]. 3 Camcorder: Locate the scene you wish to copy and pause the playback shortly just before the desired scene. 4 Camcorder: Resume playback. By default, onscreen displays will be embedded in the output video signal. You can change the displays by repeatedly pressing h (097). 5 External device: Start recording when the scene you wish to copy appears; stop recording when it ends. 6 Camcorder: Stop playback. External Connections .. 145 NOTES • We recommend powering the camcorder using the compact power adapter. Uploading Movies to Video Sharing Web Sites You can convert your high-definition video recordings into standard definition in order to upload them to your favorite video sharing Web site. If you are using an Eye-Fi card, after converting your video recordings into standard definition scenes you can upload your movies wirelessly, directly from the camcorder. Refer to Eye-Fi’s homepage for the latest information on compatible Web sites. You can complete the conversion to standard definition in the camcorder and then use the supplied software ImageMixer 3 SE to upload your videos to the Web. Installation See ‘PIXELA Applications’ Installation Guide. Using the software See ‘ImageMixer 3 SE Software Guide’ (PDF file). Operating modes: Converting Scenes into Standard Definition 1 Power the camcorder using the compact power adapter. 2 Make sure there is a memory card in slot Y with sufficient available space. 146 • External Connections 3 Open the [Original], [Playlist] or [Video Snapshot] > [Original]/ [Playlist] index screen. • Select the f tab to convert scenes from the built-in memory (conly) or the 4 tab to convert scenes from memory card X. • [Original] or [Video Snapshot] > [Original] index screen: To convert all the scenes recorded on a specific date, narrow down the scenes shown to scenes recorded on that date (056). 4Touch [a] to open the scene selection screen. When you convert scenes from the [Playlist] index screen (including the playlist of video snapshot scenes), you cannot select individual scenes; instead, the entire playlist will be converted. Skip directly to step 6. 5 Touch on the individual scenes you want to convert. • A checkmark O will appear on scenes selected. Touch a selected scene again to remove the checkmark. • To select all the scenes at once: Touch [Select All] instead of touching individual scenes. (Remove in advance any checkmarks from scenes you may have selected individually.) 6Press Z and touch [Yes]. • If a copyright notice appears, read it carefully and touch [OK] if you agree. • Before touching [Yes], you can touch [5] to change the conversion settings as described below. •Touch [B] to interrupt the operation while it is in progress. 7 When the conversion is completed, a confirmation screen will appear. Connect the camcorder to the computer at this point (0149) to continue uploading the converted videos to the Web or touch [End Without Connecting] to connect to the computer later. External Connections .. 147 To embed the recording date and time The recording date and time will always be displayed on the converted scene. [5] 8 [Embed Date/Time] 8[On] 8[f] 8[f] To select the bit rate Using a higher bit rate will result in better video quality for the converted scenes, while a lower bit rate will result in smaller file sizes and faster uploads. Pause the playback at the point where you want the conversion to begin and continue with step 6. NOTES • When converting scenes in the [Playlist] or [Video Snapshot] > [Original]/ [Playlist] index screen: -The scenes are converted with the selected background music (093) instead of the original sound. • When converting scenes in the [Playlist] index screen: -All the scenes are merged into one converted scene. -If the converted scene is too large, it will be split into smaller 10minute long scenes. -When converting only part of a scene, the maximum length of the converted scene will be 10 minutes from the starting (playback pause) point. -The playlist cannot be converted when its total playback time exceeds 2 hours and 30 minutes. • The time required to convert scenes is approximately equal to the total playback time of the converted scenes.
