First Steps Charge the Battery The camera is powered by an EN-EL15 rechargeable Li-ion battery (supplied). To maximize shooting time, charge the battery in the supplied MH-25 battery charger before use. About 2 hours and 35 minutes are required to fully recharge the battery when no charge remains. X 1 Connect the AC power cable or wall adapter. Connect the power cable as shown at right. Use the AC adapter plug in the position shown; do not rotate. Depending on the country or region of purchase, an AC wall adapter may also be supplied with the charger. To use the adapter, insert it into the charger AC inlet (q). Slide the AC wall adapter latch in the direction shown (w) and rotate the adapter 90 ° to fix it in the position shown (e). Reverse these steps to remove the adapter. Capacity may be reduced and charging times may increase at battery temperatures from 0 °C/32 °F to 15 °C/59 °F and from 45°C/113°F to 60 °C/140 °F. Do not move the charger or touch the battery during charging. Failure to observe this precaution could in very rare instances result in the charger showing that charging is complete when the battery is only partially charged. Remove and reinsert the battery to begin charging again. If the CHARGE lamp flickers (i.e., flashes about eight times a second) during charging, confirm that the temperature is in the correct range and then unplug the charger and remove and reinsert the battery.
