Para reducir el riesgo de choque electrico, ESTE ARTEFACTO TIENEUN ENCHUFE POLARIZADO PARA CA (una clavija es mas ancha quela otra) y entra completamente en un tomacorriente polarizadosolo en una posicion. De no ser asi, inviertalo, y si aun asi no entracompletamente, llame a un electricista calificado para que instaleun tomacorriente apropiado. NO INTENTE BURLAR LA SEGURIDAD DE ESTE ENCHUFE POLARIZADO EN FORMA ALGUNA. LEA Y CONSERVE ESTAS INSTRUCCIONES IMPORTANTES DE SEGURIDAD INSTRUCCIONES DE SEGURIDAD PARA LA INSTALACION DEL CORDON Y EL ENCHUFE La longitud del cordon en este artefacto fue seleccionada para reducir los riesgos de tropiezos que causan los cordones largos. Si se necesita un cordon mas largo, use un cordon de extension aprobado. La capacidad del cordon de extension debe ser igual o superior a la demanda electrica del purificador. Se debe tener cuidado en la forma de tender el cordon de extension para que no cuelgue de los tableros de las mesas de donde podrian halarlo los ninos o causar accidentes por tropiezos. IONIZADOR Este purificador de aire tiene un ionizador que se controla independientemente y que al encenderse suelta iones negativos en el aire filtrado que sale de la unidad. Los iones son particulas diminutas con carga positiva o negativa. Estos iones existen en forma natural alrededor nuestro, en el aire, el agua y el suelo; y son incoloros, inodoros y completamente inocuos. Los iones negativos ayudan en el proceso de purificacion del aireadhiriendose a la particulas pequenas transportadas por el aire en unahabitacion. Estas particulas se cargan negativamente y pueden unirsea particulas de carga positiva como el polvo, polen, humo, pelos deanimales etc. para formar particulas mas grandes y mas faciles de capturar por el sistema de filtracion, o pueden ser atraidos por superficiescon carga positiva como las paredes o los pisos. Despues de un uso prolongado se podra notar una acumulacion de polvo alrededor de las rejillas o del panel frontal. Esto resulta del proceso de ionizacion causado por iones negativos existentes en la salida de aire y es evidencia adicional de la efectividad limpiadora de los iones negativos. El polvo puede limpiarse son un pano humedecido o una escobilla blanda. NOTA: Es importante cambiar el filtro principal con la periodicidad recomendada. El uso del ionizador con los filtros sucios puede hacer que las particulas de suciedad existentes en el purificador de aire se adhieran a las paredes, alfombras u otro mobiliario y podrian ser muy dificiles de limpiar. INSTRUCCIONES PREOPERATIVAS Felicitaciones por su compra de este purificador de aire de diseno estilizado, versatil y de operacion silenciosa que lo hacen perfecto tanto para el hogar como para la oficina. 1. Desempaque el purificador de aire cuidadosamente. Para su ubicacion seleccione una superficie firme y nivelada sin obstrucciones para la entrada de aire ni para las salidas de aire filtrado. Una buena ubicacion en la habitacion suele ser a unos 30 cm (1’) de una pared, sobre una mesa o escritorio en un lugar central de la casa. 4. Remove plastic bag from carbon pre-filter 5. Remove main filter by gripping on both sides and pulling forward. 6. Remove protective plastic bag from the main filter cartridge. 7. Fold the tabs up on the main filter cartridge and hang onto the plastic tabs of the air purifier with the carbon (black) filter side facing you. (Figure 1). 8. Replace the carbon pre-filter. Figure 1 9. Replace air inlet grill back onto unit securely. DO NOT POINT OUTLET TOWARDS WALL. OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS 1. Plug into a 120V AC electrical outlet. 2. Select the desired operating speed. This Holmes Air Purifier has two different speed settings. You can select from HIGH, or LOW by sliding the switch to the desired setting. The power light will illuminate letting you know the power is on. 3. To release negative ions into the filtered air, slide the ionizer switch to ON and the light will illuminate. 4. For optimum air filtration, it is recommended to operate the air purifier continuously. Its rugged motor has been designed to give many years of use. For continuous use, it’s recommended to operate the air purifier at the HIGH setting. For quieter operation or use in a bedroom, select the LOW setting. CLEANING/MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS Turn off and unplug the unit before cleaning. 1. The outside of the air purifier can be cleaned with a soft, damp cloth. 2. The air inlet grill can be removed and washed in warm soapy water (not dishwasher safe). Dry before replacing in the unit. 3. The air outlet grill can be cleaned of dust with a small soft brush. WARNING: Do not allow moisture to come in contact with the main housing of the air purifier. FILTER REPLACEMENT INSTRUCTIONS Turn off and unplug the unit before replacing filter. 1.
