Item 1 Item 29 Body Spacer M6 Nut Actual Size Actual Size 8 Pcs 8 Pcs Notice: The control panel cover can be opened by gently pulling down on the top of the cover. 11 1111 STEP 7 - INSTALL BURNERS •Remove plastic covering from Burners(3) and remove Cotter Pins(3) from Burner Peg. •Fit venturi end of Burner through hole in the inside firewall of Body (behind Control Panel) and onto Gas Control Valve Nozzle (FIG. 6A.) Be careful not to bend or force Gas Collector Plates. Item 27 •Place other end of Burner on lower shoulder of rear COTTER PIN firewall so Burner Peg rests in Burner Locator Hole as shown ( FIG. 6B.) ELECTRODE 3/16” GAP MAX. TAB-GAS COLLECTOR PLATE •Repeat above steps for remaining burners. •Using pliers, from underside of grill Body, insert Cotter Pin through hole in Burner Peg to secure. Cotter Pin -Install from underneath Backside of grill Burner 12 COOKING GRIDS CERAMIC BRIQUETTES TRAYS STEP 8 - INSTALL CERAMIC BRIQUETTE TRAYS/ COOKING GRIDS •Remove plastic completely from two Ceramic Briquette Trays (Item 36). Place Briquette Trays side by side on middle shoulder of front and rear firewall over the Burners. •Place three Cooking Grids side by side on upper shoulder of front and rear firewall over the Ceramic Briquette Trays. STEP 9 - ATTACH LP CYLINDER TO GRILL •Fill empty OPD LP Cylinder at your local LP gas supplier. •From rear of grill, set bottom ring of LP Cylinder into Base of grill with the LP Cylinder valve facing out as shown. Pivot Cylinder Retaining Wire onto cylinder collar to prevent cylinder from moving. •Turn Control Panel knobs to “off” position and verify LP Cylinder valve is closed. •Remove the protective cap from the LP Cylinder valve. Hold Regulator in a straight line with LP Cylinder valve so the connection does not cross thread. Insert Regulator Nipple into the LP Cylinder valve. Hand tighten coupling nut in clockwise direction. Do not use tools. 13 Step 10 - LEAK TESTING (TO BE PERFORMED IN A WELL-VENTILATED AREA) Supplies Needed for a Leak Test Clean paint brush, water, and dishwashing liquid detergent. How to perform a leak test Warning! Never use an open flame to test for gas leaks. 1) Mix one cup of water with one cup of dishwashing liquid detergent. 2) Confirm that all control knobs on the Control Panel are in the “off” position. 3) Open valve on LP gas cylinder (Turn counter - clockwise). • Perform a leak test before each use. • Leak test must be performed in a well ventilated area. • Never perform a leak test on a grill while in use or hot. • If you detect a gas leak that cannot be corrected by using the leak test procedures below, do not use the LP gas grill. • Never smoke or have an open flame near the grill during a leak test. • Insure Regulator Hose does not contact hot metal surfaces. View “A” Clean paint brush, water, and dishwashing liquid detergent. How to perform a leak test Warning! View “A” View “A” Manifold Leak Test from underside of grill. 4) Check for leaks by brushing the soap solution on all LP gas connections and fittings. Make sure you generously brush the locations shown below in View A with the soap solution, completely surrounding the connections and fittings. 5) If “growing” bubbles appear on any of the connection points, you have detected a gas leak. Immediately close the LP cylinder valve. A) If leak appears at either end of hose and regulator assembly, retighten the connection at the leak, but do not overtighten. (Note: only hand tighten at coupling nut.) Repeat Leak Test. B) If the leak is coming from the LP gas cylinder, from the valves at the control knobs, or if the leak cannot be stopped, do not use the grill. Call Customer Service at 1-800-251-7558. 6) Always turn off LP cylinder valve after performing a leak test (Turn clockwise to a full stop). 7) If your LP gas grill has been in storage or has not been used for a period of time, the burners should be maintained.
